I couldn’t completely escape Nile Rodgers this weekend - saw Scritti Politti live where they covered a Chic song for the encore :D

Any reviews of the recent Never Mind the Buzzcocks reboot? I don't have Sky and I haven't seen it generating any online buzz. So I'm presuming it's not up to much?

Used to like it back in the Mark Lemarr, Phil and Bill years, although Simon Amstell had some great episodes as well.

I saw the first one, I thought it was ok, nothing to get excited about

It might pick up a bit once the regulars become more familiar but it seemed a bit pointless.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,312 ✭✭✭druss

Actually found a Guardian review as well, which again said it was generally ok. But that the music referenced in reboot was almost exclusively mainstream, whereas before it was a much broader affair. I won't go out of my way to chase it down then!

Watched the buzzcocks. Some decent humour, I'm a fan of Davies, but as said the music was v poppy. My memory of the original was more indie/rock etc

    1) Blondie were a great singles band

    2) Clem Burke is a phenomenal drummer

    3) Has there ever been a more gorgeous woman than a young Debbie Harry?

    That Oceanic song was huge.

Hopefully this will get an airing :)

Twelve bottles of windscreen washing fluid. It's one of the best scenes from the best series.

Methinks BBC Four are waiting till they get to the 3rd. October 1991 edition of TappyPappy before they show ‘The Story Of 1991’.

This was when TOTP was relaunched - a move to Elstree Studios, new theme tune and every artist must perform ‘live’ vocals (thankfully New Order didn’t have a record out at this time :D )
