    Lovely taken goal by Herrera

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,271 ✭✭✭Tandey

Easy save from a very very poor penalty.

Hererra is going well for 32.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,328 ✭✭✭Did you smash it

Good shout, assumed Rodrigo de Paul would be playing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Brugge make it 1-1. The captain Vanaken with a nice finish. They've responded well to going a goal down.

Messi so close to his first PSG goal. Shot hits the crossbar.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Lovely finish from Rebic to equalise. Mad that they're level.

...and even madder that they're ahead!

For a team that were unable to get out of their own half for 90% of the first half that was a good goal.

    Great finish by Rebic.

    Liverpool must be sickened.

    Shocking few minutes from Liverpool.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,258 ✭✭✭✭y0ssar1an22

bonkers. and liverpool were playing some wonderful stuff

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,271 ✭✭✭Tandey

Wow oh wow Milan two attacks in the space of 2 minutes and two goals.

Liverpool defence not their strong point.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,694 ✭✭✭✭osarusan

Liverpool utterly dominant for what, 40 minutes, and then two super moves to cut them open. Incredible end to the half, but a real lesson that you have to turn dominance into chances and then take them.

Yeah poor from liverpool tbh. Saying for a while now they need a proper number 9 that will put away those chances.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,258 ✭✭✭✭y0ssar1an22

nearly the perfect start to 2nd half for milan. goal disallowed for offside

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,174 ✭✭✭Xander10

ball played back, not sure that was offside?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,258 ✭✭✭✭y0ssar1an22

2-2 in liverpool now via salah

Mbappe having to go off with an injury so Icardi replaces him. Brugge have started the second half better. Not sure about the half-time subs from Poch. He took off Wijnaldum and Paredes for Draxler and Danilo. Hasn't worked out so far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

That was a great strike by Henderson.

Just noticed Haller has scored 4 goals for Ajax away to Sporting.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,712 ✭✭✭dr.kenneth noisewater

Haller with 4 for Ajax tonight, looked so poor at West Ham at times

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,028 ✭✭✭PsychoPete

Nkunku with a hatrick for Leipzig and an absolute cracker from Cancelo making it 5-3

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

It was disapponting, though he had some nice moments at times. I remember he was very exciting alongside Jovic and Rebic at Eintracht a few years back. Pleased the Ajax move is working out for him.

    Wrong thread

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Ends 1-1 in Belgium. Brugge definitely deserved something from the game. I was impressed by their forward De Ketelaere. PSG never really got control of the game until the last 10 minutes. Verratti and Di Maria were missed. Work to do for Poch to get the right system for these players.

Mad to see both Ronaldo and Messi's new CL adventures begin poorly. Given the teams they play for, and the teams they were playing against, who'd have seen that coming!

Some performance by Liverpool. Made to work for it because of the 2 minute spell Milan had at the end of the first half but they created a lot of chances, played at a tempo that blew Milan out of it for large parts. Very entertaining, thoroughly enjoyable, hard but well earned win with a few things to work on too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,043 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

Inter didn't deserve to lose that game.

They played well, but just missing a decent forward now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,023 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

And even with the defensive problems it'll create, they're so top heavy that you could see them failing to control the game well enough to actually take advantage of all those goalscorers.

    Teams for the early kick-offs:

Ajax XI: Pasveer; Mazraoui, Timber, Martinez, Blind; Alvarez, Gravenberch; Antony, Berghuis, Tadic; Haller.

Besiktas XI: Destanoglu; Rosier, Saatci, N'Sakala, Meras; Souza; Karaman, Ucan, Bozdogan, Yilmaz; Batshuayi.

Shakhtar XI: Pyatov; Dodo, Marlon, Matviyenko, Ismaily; Stepanenko; Solomon, Maycon, Patrick, Pedrinho; Traore.

Inter XI: Handanovic; Skriniar, de Vrij, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Brozovic, Vecino, Dimarco; Dzeko, Martinez.

I like that Inter have gone with Dumfries and Dimarco.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,912 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

A total accident however it looks like Dunfries did some serious damage to Traore's knee, lower leg there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

The replay was hard to watch. Looks like a very serious injury.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,614 ✭✭✭The Golden Miller

Ajax look like they are beginning to operate at the level they were at in the 18-19 season again. Could be dark horses to go a long way again. Will take their game to anyone and go for it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,328 ✭✭✭Did you smash it

Most Definitely, have been eliminated from European competition stupidity the last 2 years they contrived to lose to inferior sides.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,614 ✭✭✭The Golden Miller

The 19-20 elimination was particularly silly. Game v Valencia and throwing a stupid lead v Chelsea when they were battering them

must have been last year Atalanta knocked them out. Atalanta are a good watchable team but this Ajax side are looking the part the past couple of years. Think they missed a late sitter and had a lad sent off in Amsterdam vs Atalanta last year. In the Europa, Roma knocked them out when Ajax dominated them in Rome. Fancied Ajax to go all the way.

maybe this is a false dawn but they look certs for the knockouts

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

PSG XI: Donnarumma; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Kimpembe, Nuno Mendes; Herrera, Verratti, Gueye; Messi, Mbappe, Neymar.

Man City XI: Ederson; Walker, Dias, Laporte, Cancelo; Silva, Rodri, De Bruyne; Mahrez, Sterling, Grealish.

Messi and Verratti return. Sterling preferred to Torres surprises me. Looking forward to this game.

Why is Liverpool on RTE when PSG v City is on?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,081 ✭✭✭Fromvert

I don't watch PSG very often but I thought Gini Wijnaldum would be nailed on to play tonight, has played in many tough/high intensity games against City so would have that experience in games where you don't have the ball a lot and is great under pressure on the ball to get by the City press, especially over a player like Herrera who is very limited in comparison. Maybe he hasn't started well there?

Liverpool bring in more viewers than Man City, have to maximise the ad revenue

Shakhtar and Inter ends goalless, which is probably a fair result. Madrid should take control of the group by beating Sheriff later.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,972 ✭✭✭WesternZulu

Turned on RTE to watch City and PSG.

Feck this pandering to EPL fans. Some of us would rather watch the tie of the round instead of a nothing match.

I know it's Liverpool but PSG vs any EPL side should get top billing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,378 ✭✭✭✭TitianGerm

I'd rather watch anything else above the PSG players throwing themselves to the ground whenever they feel the slightest bit of contact.

  • Registered Users Posts: 493 ✭✭BobHopeless

Why. Porto alone have more European pedigree than City and PSG combined.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,258 ✭✭✭✭y0ssar1an22

    city psg is on bt2

Idrissa Gueye makes it 1-0. Great finish.
