Clontarf had bigger pack and were more dominant in the scrum imo. Lot of injuries for Clontarf. Two early scores from Landsdowne had clontarf on the back foot. Landsdowne played well though and looked less sloppy. Didn't make as many silly mistakes as Clontarf. Was a decent game

Cheers lads, the game is still on Youtube, so might give it a watch.

One for your transfers list Stainalert

Cian Egenton to Clontarf from Trinity.

lsdrugbyfan do you have a club you support or are a member of?

Hope we can see some good previews in the media this week. Limerick Leader normally do good preview of the Limerick sides and the club scene podcast is back

I won't lie, Im not exactly overjoyed we have brought in so many heads, ex pros and lads from different clubs. Like it is great and all in one sense, but just a little short termism

I think we will be Top 4 at the very least, just with the quality of the signings and some of the depth we have but it does leave a little sour taste.

That being said, should make our J2s and J3s pretty decent too!

unclear to me if provincial dev games will continue now or if players will be playing AIL this weekend, anyone know?

  • Registered Users Posts: 307 ✭✭RuPi

Back to AIL. Only academy and sub academy players released, no development or senior contracted players due to provincial bubbles.

Maybe another round of development games during Autumn Internationals as no URC on then but still TBC.

Great to see it back. We are away to UCC. V hopeful of a win to kick us off.

Other than that, am confident we can push for Top 4 with the recruitment.

Who are you lads (collectively) playing this weekend and expectations for it?

    1A

UCC v Terenure - Think Terenure will win well

Dublin University v Garryowen - Hard to call will go with the visitors

Clontarf v UCD - Clontarf will bully the students up front and that will be the difference

Young Munster v Ballynahinch - Don't knwo an awful lot about Hinch but expect Munsters to win at home

Lansdowne v Cork Con - nice easy start! At least we have them at home

    1B

Old Belvedere v Naas - Belvo to edge this one

Banbridge v City of Armagh - City of Armagh

Highfield v St Marys - Hard to see anyone in 1B beating Highfield

Malone v Navan - Malone to edge this one - I think Navan will be much improved though

Old Wesley v Shannon - Old Wesley probably the next best team in the division behind Highfield

Good win for us in Cork. My mates were there, said UCC are very skillful but just out muscled. Which is sort of to be expected

Hard luck to your lads Ormond, seems like they put up a good fight. Was checking the Barnhall and Nenagh social media.

Lansdownes win is prob result of the day

Funny but the "runaway" sides from the last season, Cork Con, Highfield, Barnhall etc, either lost or not near as dominant as everyone thought

  • Registered Users Posts: 628 ✭✭✭Chico Flores

Side note, nearly every team I think named their teams on social media, least most of the ones I checked. Thats good

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,263 ✭✭✭Stainalert

Irishrugby.ie have some great footage on social media of some of the games this weekend - Garryowen looked very impressive with their big win against Trinity and Young Munsters playing some fine rugby against Hinch.

Very tough game for us against Con with plenty of action. Very happy with the win of course.

  • Registered Users Posts: 628 ✭✭✭Chico Flores

Mighty win to be fair, especially with them having a few Munster lads in line up too. Congrats.

We, as expected, just sort of overpowered UCC. They are a good side, but will just struggle v the bigger packs.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,263 ✭✭✭Stainalert

Saw the Old Wesley Shannon highlights on twitter - cracker of a game

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,263 ✭✭✭Stainalert

UCD v Trinity - Going with Trinity on this one

    Saturday

Cork Con v Young Munster - Young Munster to sneak it

Terenure v Lansdowne - Both teams have started well. Very tricky fixture for us

Garryowen v UCC - Garryowen to win well

Ballynahinch v Clontarf - Backing Hinch on this one

    1B

    Saturday

Naas v Malone - Fancy Naas to get the win

City of Armagh v Old Belvedere - Belvo by a whisker

Navan v Highfield - Highfield to win well

    Shannon v Banbridge - Shannon

St Marys v Old Wesley - Very tight and going to go with Marys
