Trivial observation thread....or (tings that trivially are observed)

This thread is long overdue in my humble opinion.

    All trivial observations are welcome.

eg., cheesy scones can never have enough cheese in them.

Also, it's better to walk on many small stones barefoot than just a few... 🦶😝

You know that weird aerobic style walking with arms swinging like sideways judo chops?

I don't think I've ever seen a man walk like that. It seems exclusive to women. Not all women but a select few and christ it looks stupid.

Also, how the fuk did Ed Sheeran make it so big?

He's not talentless but Jesus he's ridiculously big for an artist that isn't that special really when you think of great artists over the years.

If you're walking on the footpath, eg, and someone (usually, but not always, a female 😁) is right behind, but not gaining or endeavouring to pass 😑, and one is struggling to put a 'comfortable' distance between themselves and their 'pursuer'; try holding back (pretend to make a phonecall/ tie shoe etc) , and let the other person get ahead. After that, you can continue on walking at a leisurely pace, and, more often than not, you will find that it won't take long to 'reduce the deficit' , and, indeed, to comfortably stay a reasonable distance behind the person in front, which makes for a more leisurely stroll..

I call this the 'dumb animal effect' 😊 , in that the pursuer has something to chase, but when they have to 'make the running' , well, that's a whole nother propositon 😂

Maybe we should change the thread title to the ‘Trivial Observations of Women Thread’?

Yeah it’s well and truly a mystery...Sheeran has sold more than 150 million records worldwide, making him one of the world's best-selling music artists. He has 84.5 million units in the US, and two of his albums are in the list of the best selling albums in UK chart history: × at number 20, and ÷ at number 34.

there are artists who I don’t like... say Westlife... but you ‘get’ why they are successful, what market they tapped why and how...

Sheeran is a pub singer, with average songs yet 150 million record sales for songs beyond or below average.

That's the thing, the likes of Westlife or little mix, people understand they're tapping into a market and they're not really taken that seriously as an actual artist whereas Ed Sheeran along with the sales figures somehow has this credibility as an artist as if he's a rare talent. 🤷

What's the story with the modern trend of lads in Ireland walking around the place wearing shorts in the freezing cold?

I'm not talking about someone coming or going to the gym but lads strolling about the town for a bit of shopping or I was on a course yesterday and there was a fella wearing shorts and it was bloody freezing. I don't get it. 🤷

I’ve noticed this a fair bit but it’s, almost, exclusively heavy set (overweight), red-faced men. A lot of the time accompanied by a feeble, pubey, beard but with bare, pink, cheeks.

a lot of wannabe yanks these days saying sneakers instead of runners. they've probably been watching memphis belle too often and now they think they're a b17 tail gunner called Tyler from the 1940s. or some lad from 80s harlem thinking they can breakdance. but nobody is impressed.

Covid has made a lot of people more dramatic about getting sick at all. There used to be a kind of joke about men with manflu when all they have is a bit of a dose. It's a bit like that but worse.

Where a lot of people before were like ah it's just a bit of a dose, I think these covid times have made people see minor illnesses as something bigger than they are.

I find a good few people being much more wary of others now aswell as if we're all germ filled walking time bombs.

I don't like all of the above.
