Good price movement today. Next target is to beat 53k for Bitcoin.

If that happens, then rolex watches on me

PlanB says 63k and increasing thru Nov and Dec - his model has been on the ball, so hope he is correct

Fed up with this S2F model. It doesn't account for demand nor does it hold up going further into the future. It only makes sense when considering mining profitability.

I'm split about 60:40 between ETH and BTC after making a few purchases this year, I would just about break even if I sold up now.

I am expecting 90k by EOY and 110k by Feb/Mar.

Not a chance but who knows

Well if it does I will be kicking myself for not buying during that long dip.

Not a chance of what? That's a fairly concrete statement either way

We all made btc and eth end of year price predictions about 6months ago, someone may dig them all out ha

I haven't invested in any, perhaps it's too late for me, I don't understand this at all, I'm to stupid to be honest

BTC will hit ~ 100K EOY.

It might be similar to last time in 2017, where it didn't quite hit 20K.

1 gwei is 1/1,000,000,000th (1 one billionth) of an ETH.

Bloody hell but SHIB has made some people very very rich in the past several months.

I put €50 into SHIB as a gamble a few months back. It never did much then dropped to ad low as €9. It's back up to €36.

Not even worth selling at b/e. Just going to hold it in case it becomes something.

You can say that about practically any shitcoin. Fact is the majority lost money on shite like that.

Oh I know but that is some amazing pump, in all fairness

3x is small fry in the shitcoin world 😋

Watching BTC for rejection at $51950, previous rejection at $53500 a few weeks ago and earlier today at $51847 all have me zoned in on the 1st figure as a strong resistance line.

If it pops that today? Well that's my August thesis of @$ 35k bolloxed 😉 and never let it be said I'm afraid to admit my error!

So my current thinking is, if it beats 51950 by COB today? There may well be consolidation and a $46k low side off that.

If it doesn't beat it? I have zero clue where it will go and my squiggles are meaningless!😂

I mean they are meaningless, TA still doesn't fit any back testing I try and the only 2 indicators I see any meaningful interpolation in at the mo? Are Elliott wave which backtests ok'ish but really needs a lot of skill/luck in identifying wave start point. And supertrend which is pretty meaningless anyway.

I may just start using a blindfold and a red/green dartboard to plan my buy/sell 😂

timing the market is extremely hard and being bitcoin it's the one train you do not want to miss out on, and that in itself can make it emotionally even more difficult to make trading decisions - have you tried looking at sentiment? for example a lot of fear in the market around the 40K low suggested that the market may not go lower, check out crypto fear and greed index

also EW i think is nice to look at but personally I found it useless with no real edge and subject to "fitting"

    good luck

EW backtests wonderfully, but it is very much an after the fact tool for Crypto IMO.

I'm long opposed to the utility of TA for crypto and even rational thinking and expectations tend to not apply tbh. My posting history on this sub would support that. I believe it's nigh on impossible to use TA, timing or anything other than HODL to make money on crypto TBH.

That said, my August shout wasn't too far wrong. I was over optimistic in my buy orders 😉

I've managed to get back in at tidy returns on @ 8% of my August holdings and the rest of the crypto portfolio is still currently in cash awaiting the impact of equity market issues that are becoming apparent. China, (and not just Evergrande) is still in serious trouble IMO and I've posted my thoughts on that over on the share picks thread.

My buy orders are BTC, MATIC, ADA, LRC and a couple of others. Patience pays of in orders too.

Very interesting times coming up IMO that will go a long towards answering questions on crypto and equity market relationships and movements.

Nice spike from $52.8k to $55.5k there, similar to the spike from $43k to $47k last week! Definitely feels like this is the kick off of the remainder of this cycle's bull run

I know I've said this a few times before, but have known quite a few "buy and sellers", they make margins here and there but all have been dwarfed by all those I know who have just sat on it for years. I wouldn't bother selling for less than 10x. That's all I've ever been in this for, and it's been possible since as recently as last year (many coins did 20x, e.g. Eth did 30x)

In terms of shortterm buying and selling, unless you are a seasoned trader (and even then most of them don't have a clue) it's just like going to the casino and betting on red or black. With the long term (4 year periods), minimum 10x has been possible on main coins three/four times so far (2013, mid 2017, end 2017, 2021). I will be putting cash in if the next bear runs deep enough, then will happily sit on it for years. No inclination to touch it for anything less than 10x.

    Ergo, thesis bolloxed!😉

I agree. My crypto pile started as a means of experimenting and amusing myself whilst the equity pile did the heavy lifting.

In the last few years that position has reversed to a huge degree. What was a 80/20 split in favour of equities, has since morphed into pretty much the inverse with growth in value on the crypto side and in and around inflation matching pace on the equities.

I've certainly cost myself a lot of gains by playing with crypto but, much and all as I'd prefer to be a 7 figure tosser right now 😞

I'll settle for where I am, and harden the hands as I go along.

This bout of "transitory" inflation is going to play strange tricks on pricing in the medium term IMO. Crypto prices versus inflating FIAT will be well worth an academic paper or 10 even 😉
