Weeds on drive

Hi

Just looking for some advice. I have weeds growing on my front drive [some kind of cobble lock] Generally I have sprayed them twice a year with roundup. Last year I did it in June and again in late September. It got rid of them. Now they have come back. I know it was very mild In Nov and Dec so I'm assuming that is the reason. Just wondering should I spray them again. Is it worth my while given that it is January and the weather has turned cold. They're not that bad but I don't want the place looking 'rented' if you know what i mean.

Also what would you recommend using. I think one can still buy 500ml of roundup without that course. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas.

Also the moss is coming back. I used something called moss burster on that last April and it really cleared it. Should I look into doing something again or is it the wrong time of year?

First world problems i know.

Have the same problems with weeds on gravel driveway and paths. All down to the mild and wet weather. Your roundup or similar will only work if the weeds are actively growing so am not sure if it would be effective with a cold spell forecast. I'm hoeing out the worst parts but on a cobble lock that might be tough. I'd try some of the non systemic weedkillers that just kill the foliage and not the roots. It might remove the visible weeds and when they all regrow in March/April you could try roundup etc. Perhaps a flamethrower/burner might get rid of the foliage too?
Not sure if any of the above might work - might be a job for hands and knees and pulling them out by hand!

I bought one of those weed burners in Lidl or Aldi a few years back, I find it great for weeds on paths and gravelled areas.

That comes with a regulator but it's seems a bit of overkill. One with a small camping gas type cylinder at a third if the price will do the same job without lugging around a large cylinder of gas.

For what it's worth, the biggest cause of weeds in cobble lock is not refilling the joints with jointing sand every so often.
