Lovely crisp clear morning out, a cool 7c. If only it would stay like that tonight but sadly not.

Big sunspot 1887 unleashed a big X1 flare Thursday which sent a cme almost directly towards earth.

Its forecast to hit today and could cause a G3 geomagnetic storm which would mean Aurora should be seen from Ireland but unfortunately the forecast is for cloudy skies for the next few nights.

Rain warning in place for a few counties as well with a risk of thunderstorms and spot flooding, except my county Leitrim and Northern Ireland

Gotten very blustery in Waterford city. Gusts were coming from the north a few mins ago and now gone back from the south. Between Dungarvan and Cappoquinn Lightning strikes showing on Blitzortung.
