Was going through my ammo the other day and realised I've a suitable amount for most of my firearms, but am "low" on 223. I bought a good bit before the lockdown and with basically not a shot fired since March 2020 I still have most of it, but with the sale of one of my 223s I have ammo that wouldn't suit the other so need/want to get a few boxes.

This got me thinking, given the threads I've read, about lads looking for some types of ammo and then the cost I've seen online. So was wondering what ammo are you using, what price are you paying and if you have any recommendations for other calibers or calibers not commonly available (220 swift seems hard to get) then post it here too.

Links to shops would also help, but are not vital.

Has anyone else noticed Hornady generally creeping up by a Euro or two?

Having said that irishshootingsports.ie appear to have the best all round prices. Layout is a bit funny though in that there are various ammo types in each "section".

First they came for the socialists...

Hornady rds are so popular and demand for them is growing I think in the last 10 yrs they have jumped nearly €7-10 a box just for .223 days more so the 53gr super performance ones. I think there’s only 1/2 shipments to Ireland a yr but we are only a small dot in there overall market of selling stuff.

My .308 rifles loves the Sako Racehead 168g. But I can't seem to get them anymore. I think they were around the €47 a box from Irishshootingsports.ie. I can still get the Hornady ELD-M 168g ... similar price.

If anyone sees the Sako Raceheads or the TRG Precision in any RFDs, can you let me know please? :D

Sold out ... it says. I might take a run down to Athlone and see if they have any to hand though.

    Thanks. :)

I got Norma .222 40g from Top gun Drogheda, €30. He even had weird stuff like 17 Remington.

I've noticed the price of 22lr ammo has gone up in the last few weeks.

    Spot on Clive.

Target ammo has taken a hike in past few weeks. No doubt the dealers will say it’s down to Brexit/Shipping/ Shortage of Stock, etc.

500lt of Kerosene went up by €55 in three weeks 🤑; god only knows what it will cost in Jan/Feb next.

All I know is the wallet is taking a pounding these days.
