I have a four channel heating controls. My hot water channel is not opening the motorised valve. The controls themselves turn on but the value doesn’t light up or open.

When I plug the motorised valve “power supply” out and change it to a different valve the issue follows it. And I can get the hot water motorised valve working by plugging the power supply from another valve into it.

any idea? Are the heating controls goosed?

    Guessing it’s a sparks I need rather than a plumber ?

Perhaps the relay inside the heating controls is goosed. If you have a multimeter you can check the terminals on the heating control to check if it's sending power to the valve.

To open your valve you need 2 conditions met; 1. the controller sends out a 220 volt signal and 2. the cylinder thermostat contacts close. If I was a betting man I'd say it is 2., i.e. issue with you cylinder thermostat.

Given I can swap the channel around to a different valve and that valve then don’t open indicates the controller ain’t sending the signal ie then the cylinder thermo should be ok?

    That's correct.

If you have a hot water boost function on the controller have you tried that?

These motorised valves clip off without any plumbing work required

just press the detach button on the side and swap it with one of the other working valves to test if it’s functioning correctly

You were correct! Thermostat needed to be reset was the only issue!
