    To be fair it all sounds reasonable but still not convinced it'll be a good launch, there was just so much off with the beta. I'm still not gone on the specialist system either but will withhold final judgement on the game until it releases with the full array.

    Won't be buying on Day 1 definitely, but will see what the feedback is, and if it's more positive might give it a trial on EA Play.

    that will have to be significantly walked back. otherwise it would be just a bunch of Paik's running on every team. Can you imagine a server with 128 people using her. FFS.

    Still I bet BFF come out a great sketch on it. Much like the black medic in BF3.

    not surprising to be honest. BF has always pushed graphics with each release so there was no way it was gonna hit 120fps on console unless it was drastically scaled down in quality and resolution.

    Surprisingly enough its the CPU that's the bottleneck for consoles this time. Not a good sign that the series X and PS5 CPUs are already struggling this early.

    Why would we say they are struggling though? They're basically 3700X processors.

    Not being able to push 120fps in the latest games is no really near what I would call struggling.

    I have an overclocked 10600K and I was getting drops to 60-70fps pretty often in the beta. The take isn't that my CPU is struggling, it's that the game is not optimised.

    Cyberpunk was the same when it first released, it ran awful on even higher end CPUs but performance increased significantly as they patched it.

    Very little if any optimizing will be done once released.

    They have said they are at the limit of power for these consoles.

    8600K here at 4.3ghz i never dropped below 100 fps @1440p in the beta.

    4k @60 fps is not bad at all for your casual gamer, personally id much prefer higher frames @1440P

    Tbh thats about as good as it gets, the logic editor is pants and the trailers we seen were lies.


    Portal is a server configurator with very limited options, altho it looks well and works but it is not what was shown in those videos.

    If that's the case then I shall lower my hopes and expectations!


    I hope they give Portal plenty of support as I can see myself playing it more than the base game due to my lack of fondness for the specialists.

    Portal has the most potential but the worry for me is that we end up with a million portal game modes that are not being played and it will be impossible to stumble on good ones.

    It will be like the rental servers. Unless you were part of a group you could never fill it and get a game going.


    I guess at least here AI might be a server filling option to at least get it going.

    The cynic in me thinks its for streamers "to get the game going".

    I in several BF3 and 4 discords and they confident they could fill a 128 hardcore server at any time, as of now 1 of them has 280 people playing on their BF4 servers. its midday 😐️

    The game seems to have gone live a little early, at least on Xbox!

    I just had a game of caspian Border via Portal

    It was fun

    Supposed to be working from home today... must resist!

    I changed the xbox country to Australia and it let me load and play the game

    Actually, it looks way more powerful than this. The rules editor allows a huge amount of variation and conditionality and even allows subroutines

    Someone with a bit of time and knowledge to spare could create some really cool modes, even including events triggered in game, eg, create two teams with the same weapons and classes, but if one team reaches a certain score, they can get boosts, like faster movement, or the other team could be restricted to knives only for a set time

    We could have two teams, one team that can only kill with headshots, and the other team that can only kill with melee weapons but with a massive damage multiplier (zombies vs humans)

    There seems to be loads of customisation that is possible with this and we're gonna get to see pretty soon what cool stuff the community will create

    So yeah ive preorder just now the gold edition after watching all these portal videos.

    Im blown away its like we are getting 4 games in one, i grew up on BF2142 then the likes of BF2 BC2 and BF3, replaying them again [not BF2 ofcourse] with modern visuals is hard to resist.

    Really looking forward to playing portal, as @Dcully said its like we are getting 4 games in one.

    I will give Hazard Zone a go, but dont have high hopes for that tbh!

    Just watched skill up's video. It was set as don't buy it yet. But everything he showed and spoke about looked great.


    Seems specialist really work in hazard mode but the question is if it can sustain as it's not hardcore enough to take from tarkov but not free to play to take from warzone.


    Portal he loved. Even the simple idea of just playing the old maps with the old class system on new graphics.
