Really? Outside of the Browns @ Patriots and maybe Saints @ Titans and then Chiefs @ Raiders I don't see much excitement there. Maybe Vikings @ Chargers as well.

That's enough action to keep me going, but also would add the Falcons Cowboys (Falcons have been in some nail biters every week the last while), Panthers are a good side despite their difficulties, and Seahawks Packers is a fascinating match up as always between those two QBs (not sure why you didn't list it).

This is just absolutely awful football by both sides. Miami lead 6-3. Lemar 12-18 for 100 yards, Freeman 9 rushes for 29 yards. Brissett 11/23 for 156 yards and Gaskin 8 rushes for 10 yards. 4 mins left in the third quarter.

The Miami defense came to play tbf and are doing a great job. Tough watch though alright.

Ravens 1 for 12 on third down, horrendous.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,347 ✭✭✭✭ben.schlomo

That last play from Jackson summed up their night. If it wasn't for Miami penalties they may not have gotten as far as the Andrews TD either.

That was more like it Dolphins.

Maybe a bit tinfoil hat-ish but why does it feel like the subjective penalties such as roughing the passer or hands to the face are called a lot more in the 2nd half to extend drives? The Ravens were down 2 scores in the 4th and the second RTP call against Holland was awful. Sometimes it just feels like the refs are looking for any excuse to extend a drive to keep it interesting.

After last weekend I'm prepared to entertain any conspiracy theory, because sheer incompetence can't account for all of it. But what's amazing to me is just the sheer amount of flags this year. It feels like they're throwing flags on every second play.

Only seeing the score from last night due to internet issues so couldn’t use gamepass but didn’t expect that result.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,212 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

It's often the case that they go overboard if they are looking to relax or remove a rule.

Roughing the passer has a new interpretation it seems. How was that roughing the passer ? The NFL refs need to shape up because they are making it hard to watch where's they make calls that are nowhere what they call.

Cowboys need to bench their starters now, I couldn't handle Dak or lamb busting a knee 40 points up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,532 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

a few blow outs and only the lions and steelers game and a couple of others are anyway close.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,917 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

This has been a really good showing from the Chiefs on both sides of the ball. Long drives leading to scores on offense and the defense has been strong again.

And they just converted a fake punt, scenes!

Mahomes on fire tonight. Still half a quarter left and he's over 400 yards and has thrown five touchdowns.

Raiders are falling apart, I guess that's what happens when you have an interim head coach and have a couple of players break laws and get cut.

You'd have to wonder if that indiscipline would have surfaced had Gruden still been there.

Big day in the AFC West with the Chiefs winning and the other three teams all losing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,212 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Next week will show where you are at.

It could yet be the Chiefs and the Patriots fighting it out for Conference honours.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,917 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

Definitely. The Cowboys were Jekyll and Hyde the last two games so we'll see which version turns up at Arrowhead.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,106 ✭✭✭Christy42

Didn't one of them thrash like 4 rental cars last year? Plus it might well have not been the first time drink driving as well. Certainly Ruggs was a big loss at wideout for the team but giving hope and removing it seems like an annual tradition for the Raiders.

Stafford throwing to the opposition again, I wondered were Detroit ****, or was Stafford ****, a bit of both maybe

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,862 ✭✭✭Mysterypunter

There are 3 minutes left in the third quarter and the Rams have run the ball 8 times

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,212 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Rams all over the place tonight, can't do anything right. Niners getting a home win and an easy one too, up 31-7 in the fourth with the ball and six minutes left.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,347 ✭✭✭✭ben.schlomo

Ended 31-10, Rams turned over on downs and kicked a FG. 49ers have a good run of games (on paper) and could be able put together a playoff run after that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,532 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

Just seeing the score from MNF. It really is a week to week league. I saw yesterday that there are 15 of the 16 teams in the AFC only one game out of the playoffs and 12 in the NFC. Now some of the AFC teams are in a mathematical sense but still if that holds till the end of the season, the playoffs permutations folder will be massive.

  • Registered Users Posts: 395 ✭✭rebelyell99

The rams are just so inconsistent they have had some great games but also stunk the place out like last night , hard to know where they stand .I still think the bucs look the safest bet to win the nfc their just the most likely team to turn up in playoff time , gonna be a great finish to the season anyway.

McVay had his first loss against the Cardinals as a head coach this year, I think he's 7-3 against the Seahawks but he's now 3-6 against the niners.

49ers last win at home was also over the Rams in October 2020.

7-7 which I’m taking as good considering how some of the games went. That brings me to 85-65 after ten weeks. Started off okay but I think I’m not alone in it tailing off the last few weeks because some games aren’t going even remotely to plan.

  • Registered Users Posts: 323 ✭✭collybyrne

7-7 takes me to 94-56 for the season.

I don't know whether all these upset results mean it's a great season or a terrible season but it sure makes for some great entertainment either way. No other league in sports is so unpredictable week on week. Big week for the Pats putting it all together against the Browns on both sides of the ball. Hard to know how much of it was down to the Browns having an off night but if the Pats keep trending upwards like this they'll be a factor in the postseason for sure. Also, from a Browns perspective, this season surely makes it difficult to see Baker ever becoming what everyone hoped he would be. He's been so inconsistent since the day he came into the league and great defensive coaches will always have a plan to fluster him to a point beyond where his raw talent can save him. I like the guy and really wanted to see him and the Browns have success together but at this stage I just can't see it happening.

Happy for the 49ers last night too. I like Shanahan, he's had a tough run with injuries for a long time now and a big home win like that against one of the leagues superpowers is just what the doctor ordered. Weird seeing the Bucs and Rams take L's against relative non-factors in the league and the same for the Bills last week. Can't wait to see who rounds the corner and stretches out come December time. I'm backing Brady and the Bucs to bounce back big time once Gronk and Brown are back in the line-up.
