Temporary Structure vs. Permanent

Hi, what's the practical difference between permanent and temporary structures (for living in) when it comes to acquiring planning permission? Is one easier than the other? Do either have exceptions?

Nope, no planning exemptions.

There is exemptions for mobile homes, but these are time conditioned and the structure cannot be occupied.

Its the "use" that determines the planning route, not simply the structure itself

Whether the structure itself needs planning is one thing, whether the planning permission for the use of the land allows it is another. Planning permission is needed to use land for storing mobile homes etc and for the use of land as a mobile home park.

Once any form of building or structure is habitable then it makes no difference whether its permanent or temporary.
