I'm glad I mostly stayed away from this case. It's genuinely depressing how polarised/politicised modern discourse is. Nobody cares about the truth anymore. You just pick your ideological team, confirm all your own biases and to hell with objectivity.

You know once you see what actually happened (in video footage of the events) and actually make up your own mind it's hard not to agree with the jury. This analysis is top drawer IMO and I'm finding to hard to find fault with it (no doubt some will attack the messenger(s) and not the actual analysis)

    https://youtu.be/9-SKkvH_AUc

All I see is a stupid kid in a stupid situation he should never have gotten himself into (not a crime last time I checked and not what he was on trial for) who finds himself in a quickly escalating and chaotic sh1tshow who is then forced into making split second life or death decisions. There seems to be a lot of expert "hurlers in the ditch" trying to argue they would have absolutely done something very different if they found themselves in the same situation.

    Genuinely, what am I missing?

Btw the main reason there were no riots last night was the soy boy Antifa/BLM boys don't like to riot in the cold weather they probably preferred to stay home and smoke weed.

The hatred is strong with this one.

Also worth bearing in mind that Kenosha isn't a particularly "BLM-y, Antifa-y" area. The full cohort of those types in Kenosha was standing on the steps of the courthouse yesterday, looking like they smell funny. Other than that they tend to be middle class, white malcontents from big cities.

After Jacob Blake was shot trying to steal the car of the woman he'd previously sexually assaulted on August 23rd last year, it wasn't until August 24th that things really kicked off in Kenosha because it took the mob that long to travel there from various large cities. There is chatter on Twitter that the left-wing terror platoon is currently making its way there, but it remains to be seen if that will actually happen. Riots at this time would hurt rather than help the democrats, so the democrat governor who refused an offer of help from the White House last year has a significant number of National Guard on standby this week. Let's hope so.

There is video evidence proving he is innocent, there are prosecution witnesses proving he is innocent, yet that's not good enough for some people.

You have to wonder are these people unwell. They have no interest in reality or fairness or rule of law. They simply hate people who aren't far left, and no matter what evidence is presented to them, the non-leftist male is a nazi and needs to be punished.

The only things you're missing is a misplaced sense of your own moral superiority, and an adherence to agenda rather that facts.

Maybe let me know when you're going to make a substantive point rather than wishy-washy statements and projections.

  • Registered Users Posts: 171 ✭✭wildeside

I think the jury is no longer out on that one at least 😆 There are a lot of unwell people on social media, often the loudest voices and most prolific tweeters. It really is a cesspit of psychological disease and dysfunction that no sane person would want to engage with .... if they want to stay that way

Calls for more gravy seals to show up armed and dangerous are going to lead to bad times. Everyone, protestors and counter-protestors, would be better off staying at home.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,798 ✭✭✭✭Snake Plisken

The state of MSM and how they can't even get basic facts right!

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,478 ✭✭✭✭kowloon

Whether they were black or not is irrelevant anyway. Someone saw BLM and made an assumption rather than fact-checking.

Just saw this classic from the family of one of the dead

Mr Huber's family said the verdict "sends the unacceptable message that armed civilians can show up in any town, incite violence, and then use the danger they have created to justify shooting people in the street."

Newsflash - one of the people accompanying your late family member was also an armed civilian that showed up to incite violence.

Mr Huber was an assailant who died in the commission of a violent crime, and the family that created him should probably do a little reflection.

My point was that you had read the situation correctly

Lets agree then that everyone who showed up on the streets in Kenosha that night, went out looking for trouble.

They all found it. Those shot paid for it with their lives, Rittenhouse should at least be paying for it with a manslaughter conviction.

But to be fair, I wouldn't have his life. He's clearly an immature, bedwetting, keyboard warrior child, that got caught up in his John Rambo fantasies. There is no question he can't ever go back to his old life, because every other nutter on the other side with an AR-15 will be out trying to kill him. His future is a long life of looking over his shoulder, until someone catches up with him.

Hopefully his future lies in living high on the hog in somewhere like a rich gated community... and all he has to worry about are some idiot activists there who may call him names, at worst (as dumb as their beliefs may be; doubt they'd be into bringing any trouble, or, worse again, some of them "peaceful protests" into their own locale).. Deserves every penny he will hopefully get...

And, lets not agree about the false "everybody there went looking for trouble" line; which is about all, the now obviously biased, and completely without integrity msm, have left to spout 😁

    Let's not agree.

Every person with the intention to RIOT went out looking for trouble.

The people offering medical assistance and putting out fires were not looking for trouble.

The police were unable to contain the violence by themselves as evidenced by the previous night. Would you watch the city your family live in burn down because trying to help protect the city was "looking for trouble"?

It's also telling that you call him immature and then say he wets the bed. That's some maturity there. Absolutely zero self awareness.

Rittenhouse had a right to defend his family's town and his own life. The people who were shot were shot in self defense. An added bonus was that Rosenbaum died from his injuries.

Well the judge at his bail hearing saw fit to set a $2,000,000 bond because he pretended that he saw a 17-year-old with no criminal record who handed himself in to police as a flight risk.

That was raised in about 10 days I think, and will now be released to Rittenhouse since he has been released and found not guilty. So he has that to be getting on with.

This is projection and not supported by the known facts of the case. Since we are going all mystic Meg and engaging in prophecy, in the future he may become the nurse giving you your meds. Realistically, time heals all wounds and in a few years people will have forgotten all about him.

Next week Mr. Rittenhouse will be dropped from the mainstream news cycle. He might come up again as a topic when Mr. Joshua Ziminski comes up for trial in January in Wisconsin.

Net Zero means we are paying for the destruction of our economy and society in pursuit of an unachievable and pointless policy.

    Weak.

Rittenhouse was putting out fires, cleaning graffiti off schools and giving medical aid to injured people.

Trouble found him that night, but this 17 year old "bedwetter" held his nerve and actually showed a fair bit of skill with that gun.

Also, before this incident, he was trying to join the EMT or police. So was looking to do some good with his life. Unlike some of the misfits and pedophiles that he encountered that night, who were just trying to destroy everything in sight and be a menace to society.

Your last comments are pretty classless and immature tbh.

What was he doing with an loaded automatic weapon, and what was he doing there when a curfew was in place?

Putting out fires, offering medical assistance and shooting a paedophile in self defence.

Did you not see the trial?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,326 ✭✭✭Cody montana

There is a video of him punching a girl in the head.

He’s not a saint, like you’re trying to portray.

I've heard about this video. Is it definitely confirmed it was him and what is the context as to why the girl was punched?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,917 ✭✭✭10000maniacs

I don't know about you, but most people don't put out fires with loaded automatic weapons.

And when was he appointed as Judge, Jury and executioner to the people he shot?

He was there for some kind of idiotic armed insurrection. Lets be honest about this.

    America is screwed beyond hope.

He wasn't from there and its not a 17 year olds job to play vigilante during curfew.
