Speaking as someone who was and remains very pro mask and if the search worked it would be easy to see that in the masks thread hereabouts, I can also see the practicalities of trying to get a child to wear one and wear it correctly. Actually Raind since we've all seen too many adult mouthbreathers with their masks half on their face with noses out in the wind, coughing and spluttering their miasmas, I'm more sure kids could wear them more effectively. Still I'm not sure it's going to work in schools as an actual practical thing beyond the optics of our authorities looking like they're doing the right thing. Windows open to winter isn't exactly a great notion either. At this stage my position would be more along the lines of pump older farts like me with prophylactics and keep the vulnerable safe, keep basic stuff like masks in shops and the like and try to ride it out. This pox is everywhere pretty much and much of the advice IMHO is more for optics, rather than science.

He has been a solid contributor throughout to these threads and has as much right as some (maybe more as some are on the banned posters list , first page ) so if he wants to keep posting that is a good way to keep in touch .

@Micky 32 @Micky 32 , missed the opportunity to wish you well before this . Best of luck in your new life and good to hear from you any time 🤗

Why did you use that source childrenshealthdefenxx.eu/ as a source?

    Panic.

I look at these tweets from GPs and other health officials and think that we are fûcked every winter now! Had to take my two year for a pcr test yesterday! Nothing in cork or Kerry so had to go to Shannon for 4.40pm last appointment I got! My wife had to take another day off work because he has a high temp but otherwise is still being a maggot! No result yet but temp and all are fine today, yet not allowed back into crèche until Thursday. So my wife needs to take another day off work tomorrow!! It’s a disaster!!

The word suppress all is what worries me going forward… who pays her wages??

    People still talking about Covid?

    Time to move on.

Masks in schools are utterly pointless. They are sitting in the same room for 5 hours. Won’t make a blind bit of difference.

We are also now in a stage where no one wants to be seen not to do something so they will do anything just to be seen. Data is already suggesting things are turning. That hard decision is to do nothing and wait and see though

Another poster trying to label and discredit when the truth hurts. In my opinion you are a dangerous poster trying to stifle debate at one of the most important times in Ireland’s history. I don’t care about that website, just looked at the study and results. It’s not as if RTÉ and mainstream media are a beacon of truth anyway. Fake polls on Claire Byrne, Pat Kenny hysterical daily with Luke O’Neil promoting jabs 24/7, journalists asking leading questions pushing for more lockdown, vaccines and less freedoms daily.

Not one reporter on RTÉ mentioned the fact the ECDC do not recommend masks for under 12’s in schools due to the detrimental effects it will have, RTÉ just got another Trinity Professor nut job onto Prime Time instead wishing the toddlers could be muzzled up too.

Because chilrensdefence.eu is widely known as the best source for objective scientific analysis.

Maybe some people don’t get their information from rte or antivaxxnutjob.com

I’m interested to know what exactly everyone giving out about him expects of him?

I would side with them on the point of the spread always being there in schools, it's always just been put down as community transmission, as for everything else fcuk knows at this stage, the longer this goes on the more nonsensical the decisions our government make.

Imagine defending the latest NPHET horseshit by trying to claim that the kids actually want it to happen, talk about scraping the barrel.

You could have guessed who would be trying that line of course, same as it ever was.

But hey, here we are, people actually debating the intricacies of targeting 8 years old for restrictions. Fact is, a society with any integrity worth a damn should recoil from the very idea.

Good lord Sir! We agree! 😮 Must be something wrong on my end. Or yours. I'm getting tested in the morning. I may be slipping away. 😁

Nothing really. Stuff like delivering Slaintecare, really tackling waiting lists and bringing Ireland's ICU capacity up to European standards would be nice. You know, ensuring value for money in the HSE. But failing any of that, nothing would be better than the endless media appearances all the while watching him subcontract all his decisions out to a bunch of sinecured civil servants.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,275 ✭✭✭CruelSummer

Well wherever you’re getting your information from needs some fact checking. Trying to claim on another thread that myocarditis as a side effect of vaccination of children will be ‘mild’ really scrapes the bottom of the barrel.

The interpretation of my position as it appears here is based on the views that I challenge and not on the views I express. Most would be surprised where my actual opinion falls. I have found in time that few rarely read what you actually sayand will continually misrepresent, so it’s more fun just to challenge the more objectionable bs

And here once again is chief misrepresentor. Who refuses point black at all opportunities to even acknowledge the real data while spreading his lies

    1st of December.

The next 2 weeks really are crucial.

If the children's lockdown works we might all get to have a meaningful Christmas.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,781 ✭✭✭mohawk

I would add that we don’t know what the long term consequences to a child’s immune system would be if we were successful in suppressing viruses that cause respiratory disease. It could lead to weakened immune systems long term or more autoimmune conditions or maybe nothing.

or me for asking you to tell me why I was out of my depth?

Again, you don't seem to read the posts. I already posted in a fairly short post, that you were out of your depth stating your opinions as legal facts.

It is in not straightforward, as you state it is, that kids forced to choose between wearing a face covering or receiving an education will stand in a court of law.

I blame Social Media for this whole mess, I have no evidence or anything else to add… but I still blame Social Media for turning us into absolute reactionary freaks!

Unfortunately Santa has been asked to limit his interactions and to work from home, so christmas is cancelled. Its the kids fault for not masking up quickly enough.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,423 ✭✭✭Jinglejangle69

Remember when we had 6 cases in a single day last July😁😁

No one would believe you now....

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,669 ✭✭✭✭Goldengirl

Funny that you know what is in my posts if you skip past them .

Have to admit I manage to catch up quickly after days often thread because I have quite a few time wasters on ignore too .

You, I don't , because funnily enough I thought you were still threadbanned

Remedying that now though, as can see you have not changed and your main modus operandi is to attack the poster rather than add anything to the discussion ,as above .

    Goodbye !

Some students in Vietnam dying after vaccines. Seems to be three now. At least one was Pfizer. This is with a relatively low number of young people getting vaccinated so far.

Is this happening in the likes of Ireland?

    Why?

14 pages since I last looked in here!

we have pretty much decided to carry on as normal with kids socialising etc ( which isn’t much to be fair). The most vulnerable extended family member has just recovered from covid thanks to his vaccine so I think the rest of us have nothing much to fear. Public health need to manage the hospitals and that’s fair enough but for most healthy vaccinated folks really we shouldn’t be worrying too much about this anymore

not impressed with the masks at school though. It’s not fair on kids.
