I was going to bank but the uncertainty over Jota has made me go Raphinha to Bowen. I've just enough to go Duffy to Dalot. Not going to take a hit but might make the transfer right after the deadline while I still can.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,362 ✭✭✭✭Father Hernandez

Jota flagged on the site now.

    50% - muscle injury.

Tempted to move Raphinha on for a -4 now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,083 ✭✭✭Chesty08

    -4 done already. I’m doing a -4 next week (Wilson/Raphina) to Bernardo/Benteke

Donwe think Bernardo & Benteke outscore the other 2 by 4 points this week?

    Is a -12 too much?

    it’s really a -8 tho cause everyone will be on a -4

Is there no risk to the United Norwich game if those Norwich tests come back positive? Will that bring more players into the fold?

Anyway, done Duffy --> Dias . Was 0.1 short of Cancelo :(

Have 12 fit players this week including two yellows so one as bench cover. Jesus is yellow and a rotation risk but still feel I need to start him in case Now who to bench out of Mbeumo, Gallagher and Benteke. Probably Mbeumo but then I'm somehow starting 3 Palace players this GW!

Even if the covid situation isn't that bad in Leicester at the moment they play Spurs next and there is a good chance that will get postponed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,580 ✭✭✭Dubh Geannain

I've Son and Regulion on my bench for this week. Are they looking at another postponed game?

  • Moderators, Education Moderators, Technology & Internet Moderators Posts: 35,137 Mod ✭✭✭✭AlmightyCushion

They might be. The players will need to do 10 days isolation and that game is on Thursday so not looking good for it. We won't know until closer though.

Jota out, Mason Mount in. Hopefully he plays

TBH, I don't think that the Spurs - Leicester game should be postponed. Spurs have enough fit players to field a team, therefore should be playing the game. In accordance to the guidelines this season.

The only reason (IMO) the Rennes & Brighton games were postponed was so that Spurs could get on top of things and prevent further outbreaks and get all their active cases found and could isolate properly. They had previously said that positive cases were negative the day beforehand.

He might be playing number 8 but his shooting in general is awful but as a back up bench option he's OK. I wouldn't want to be relying on him every week.

I'm thinking of doing a hit to get rid of McCarthy and get in Guaita. I'm not a fan of taking a hit for a keeper because they likely won't pay it back but my transfer next week will probably have to be used on Vardy if that game gets cancelled. There could be other games postponed after that too, who knows. So Guaita has at least 2 weeks to get me more than 4 points for it to pay off. Everton and Southampton at home. I think that there's a good chance of that.

Currently thinking of changing to double CHE defence for one last dance, bench Jota & Raphinha. Starting Madisson, Wilson, Antonio, Dennis.

Was going to do Raphinha -> Bowen (-4) but I'll just do that after the deadline for a FT instead to beat the prices.

I have the option of Salah or Bernardo for captain. Salah's been consistent good points for a long time now but it must dry up at some stage...is it time to change for this week anyway?

    Think I'll leave him in

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,538 ✭✭✭✭dsmythy

I'm doing the super popular Raph to Bowen. Snippet from the FFS big numbers article

    27

shots in the box and eight big chances recorded by Jarrod Bowen (£6.5m) in 2021/22 – totals not beaten by any other FPL midfielder except for Liverpool’s front three.

Im leaving it on Salah and vice to Bernardo. Salah isnt always the highest scoring captain but he tends to deliver consistent returns and then the odd time has a double haul. Even v Wolves he had a quiet game but popped up with an assist.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,721 ✭✭✭✭Muahahaha

yeah that would be my impression of Fred. Just keeping an eye on him for now and if he continues on this form Id consider getting him for Douglas Luiz. I think Dalot is more interesting though, 4.4m in a United defence that should tighten up once Rangnick puts his stamp on it. He might be the new Tsimikas except he should play a lot more.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,083 ✭✭✭Chesty08

The odd double haul :) Double digit haul in 50% of games and returned in every game bar Burnley at home.

That said I captained Son last week. Need to pick your moments.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,721 ✭✭✭✭Muahahaha

Yeah it is possible to do better by not captaining Salah, from memory Mount, Bernardo, TAA, Son, have all outscored him over the last few game weeks. Its just predicting when they will haul over the consistency of Salah that is the problem. Id say within the top 100 there'll be a good few who have picked correct alternatives at the right time but its not easy, if they get it wrong and Salah hauls they'll be out of the top 100.

Have got Bernado in for Son. Anyone think Raphinha to Sancho for -4 is worth a punt?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,910 ✭✭✭Cartman78

I feel responsible for introducing the Fred concept on this thread....sincere good luck to anybody that got him in.

Still haven't made a move....Son to Bilva seems so meh but probably the safest option.

Bowen is appealing but not sure if he's worth a hit (for Raphina).

Going goalie free this week and Jota now a problem.

Watkins, Livramento and Hwang on the bench so will probably hold off on a hit now that I've typed it all out

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,362 ✭✭✭✭Father Hernandez

    Is everyone taking a -4?

No Jota means I'll have Sissoko, Jimi or Pukki subbing in, neither are very attractive.

Dennis/King for Jimi as a -4 might be a call. Seeing as everyone is doing it...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,910 ✭✭✭Cartman78

Yeah.... fuppit...might do Hwang to King altogether for the craic (and the hit)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,721 ✭✭✭✭Muahahaha

Good few seem to be doing -4s to deal with the Brighton/Leicester/Spurs situation. Ive only Sanchez from those three but have Ramsdale on the pitch anyway. Did Raph to Bowen a couple of nights ago and happy with that. Im going to hold Jota in the hope its not serious, it doesnt sound like it is if he 'might' train today as per Klopp. But I doubt he will start, maybe he comes on 60 minutes. I see him as a keeper till at least after Salah & Mane return from AFCON.

Am I mad to captain Ronnie instead of salah need alternative as I’ve a gap to climb and can’t afford safe options

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,767 ✭✭✭shmeee

Not mad at all. If you need to climb rank then it is an option. Salah EO maybe 160% this GW I say in top 10/100k. Some will captain Ronaldo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,959 ✭✭✭crushproof

    No captain poll?

If I had Ronaldo I'd be going for him but it's a toss up between Mo, Bilva and Mount for me. Needless to say it'll most likely be Mo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,706 ✭✭✭sheroman01

I'm tempted to do -4 for Sanchez to Guaita. It's really only a -2, as Sanchez doesn't play. I'm just not sure how solid Palace are defensively now under Viera? Or am I best off sticking with Sanchez in the long run? I can only afford a 4.6m keeper btw.

Tough one - Everton have a load of injuries but are battling away. Richarlison will be fired up for sure.

The three questions you have to ask -

    1) Are you confident of the immediate clean sheet short term v Everton?

    2) Do you think the Palace fixtures look much better than Brighton's defensively - long term?

    3) Would you want Sanchez back for the double gameweeks?

    --

    Full disclosure -

In my team I went for the two playing keepers De Gea and Sanchez - figured Man United could get a clean sheet v Norwich. What with covid etc thought it was the prudent move and could play Sanchez for the doubles if I felt it was worth it.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Had to take a hit and still have 12 players max. A few rotation risks 1 flagged and only 1 on my bench 😮

    Gonna be lining up with

    DDG

    Trent James Dias

    Salah (c) Bowen Gundog Jota

    Dennis Lukaku Wilson

    Subs: Raphina ,

To Berarndo & Benteke or not???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,255 ✭✭✭✭Lemlin

Replacement for Jimenez that is at least a mil cheaper?

Alonso still found a way to punish me by that stupid tackle that gave away the peno.

Dennis, but you probably already have.

Maupay could be fun to own.
