HP LaserJet printer disappears from network

Is it actually going off the network, e.g. can you get to its web interface?

Its sounds more like the driver is addressing it via IP and the IP is changing every time it loses wifi connection. You could either set it to a static IP, or create a DHCP reservation if you have a better than consumer grade router, or use a version of the driver that uses mDNS ("Bonjour") to find the printer rather than via IP - if one exists.

May not be relevant to OP's problem but I've a 4 year old HP printer connected to my WiFi and discovered its not compatible if I have I my modem broadcasting on 5 GHz, I only discovered this after some research and its older HP printers this problem affects.

On returning to 2GHz broadcasting only, no issues at all .

I used an Archer C7 for years and years and it used to be quite good at giving devices the same IP address again. However, that may just have been a quirk of it.

You'd log on to the web interface and set a static IP to avoid that; it may not be the fix but its a definite possibility.

There are probably multiple copies of it installed in the print spooler and "dead" print files sitting in the spooler folders of the old copies. But that's just a guess.

Best if you set reservation on the DHCP on your archer as already suggested above. See emulator here or refer to manual https://emulator.tp-link.com/AD7200_Emulator_new/index.html it might be not your model but wording and navigation should be same/similar Advanced>Network>DHCP Srever>Add Reservation

Also, when installing printer on PC, don't use WSD , instead go through TCP/IP option and specify the IP set on printer.

That should solve the issue. Good post above. This is the issue with HP, easily solved though. We have 7 in the office and one at home, they are changed every 3 years and the same issue kept happening on them all.
