ipad 2021 vs ipad air 2019 ?

Hi All

Just a quick question re the above two models - I was going to go with the ipad 2021 due to price and very good reviews. Initially I was going to go with 64 gb storage but then decided the 256 gb might be better and price was still reasonable. I will primarily be using it for reading , netflix , web browsing and a small bit of typing - so I also wang to buy a keyboard for the ipad. Here is where I run into a bit of a quandary - I started browsing reviews and the ipad air 2020 got excellent reviews and it is also compatible with the apple magic keyboard which also got great reviews. ( I didn’t realise that that keyboard was coming in at € 399 which doesn’t appeal to me at all) So looking at the air 64gb is €679 and the 256gb € 849 big difference in price between the two models. So I suppose my questions are -

is the 256gb storage really necessary ?

Would I be better to go ipad 2021 256gb for €569 or Ipad air 2020 64 gb for € 679 ? head melted at this stage 🤪

iPads last for years. They don't have SD Card slot. Buy the bigger memory one IMO. After that it depends how much you want to spend. Bang for buck is the regular one.

You could get the smart folio keyboard instead of the magic keyboard, the 2021 iPad is a serious bit of kit for the money!

The “standard” iPad will be more than enough to meet your needs, it’s an excellent machine and supports the Apple Pencil also. I’d go with that, I’ll be picking one up for my daughter in January.

That’s the one I was leaning towards at the outset. But then I confused myself with reviews of the ipad air and different colours ( as if it matters at my age 😂) At the end of the day I want to read listen to music and watch netflix. Basic enough really I suppose.

If you just need to use it for entertainment, the ipad will be enough. If you also need some drawing or reading and learning, I think the ipad air would be better. As for the memory, if you need to store data, go for the large memory; if you don't need to store data, 64gb will be enough. Hope it will help u:)
