I got the booster last week and the army were doing all the work except the actual jab.

In 2020, for most of the year we didn't even know if a vaccine could be developed, never mind how many doses or boosters would be required.

There's one thing for sure. We'll see posts like this, doesn't matter what.

Very worrying that so many people are using antigen testing now, against months and months of advice not to use them.

Constant moaning about queuing. It's a free vaccine for God's sake.

It's one of the 5Cs of getting vaccines into people -convenience. Make it easy and they will flock to it. Have them queueing in the rain in December for too long and it's much less attractive!

Why is it worrying that people are using them, have the rest of the world not been using them for a long time?

They should be used more, they should certainly be given out for free to parents with kids, especially at this time of the year.

Kids are always picking cold like symptoms this time of the year, if I had to bring my kid for a pcr test everytime they had a cough and I had to isolate, then my kid would have missed a lot of school and I would be out of a job.

We use the antigen test 3 times a week before sending off to school.

Some people just won't pay for them and will just send kids into school, if the government provided them for free it would surely make a big difference in catching cases and keeping kids out of school.

That would help reduce transmission in the community but its easier to say let's spend a fortune giving kids a vaccine they don't need instead.

You do the tests even if no one has any symtoms? How much is that setting you back a week?

My child is always coughing this time of the year every year.

A local chemist has them at 3.75 a test so cheap enough.

You can probably bulk buy somewhere for cheaper but I haven't looked into it.

I don't think either of us is in position to be able to say what visit is allowed when it comes to ICU wards.

As I said, I'm pretty sure there are procedures to follow in ICU wards.

Your one time experience of being able to visit relative in ICU, doesn't mean it's always ok to do it for everyone.

Children are being unfairly targeted as always. You'd swear some teachers and principals have qualified as GPs they way they carry on. Kids being sent home for a cough or a sniffle for days on end is a joke and should stop. Anytime I've spoke to my GP regarding the kids being sent home for a cough or a sniffle he is fuming. The whole thing is a circus.

Why would they? Fully vaxxed thrown into the mix I presume. They should live their lives. If they are showing multiple symptoms then some sort of Anitgen / PCR test should be taken. But not for a runny nose or cough alone.
