    That's an integrated unit, not a fan of them myself either due to the waste. Ease of installation and 30,000hrs runtime are the usual cited reasons for installing them.

    Your option is to replace the whole unit or to source another unit with a similar facia off a supplier which doesn't have the integral LED.

    led.ie (Robus) have a good range of options for replacement and can be sourced at most electrical outlets.

    Thanks for getting back to me. Not much use in the bulb having 30,000 hrs runtime if the unit fails after probably only a few hundred hours!

    Would you say its definitely the unit or could it be the wiring into it?

    If it's a constant high frequency flicker then it's the unit, not the cable.
