Great to see a big crowd at the Palace, while here in Ireland a reduced cinema audience has to be gone by 8pm.

Nice of Smith to finally turn up

    Right back in it now.

That set has settled him nicely.

    Brilliant. Game on.

This final has burst into life after a slow start. Some class checkouts in the last few legs.

    Two sets each now,

So close to being 3-1 there, Wright will be annoyed with himself.

Pyke's annoying... "BIGGEST LEG OF THE FINAL!"

WD Smithy - hanging in there

That could be a huge momentum swinging leg!

Great to see they are picking it up now.

I wouldn't fancy Smith on the doubles if it gets to 6-6

Fair to say the 32.5 overs on 180s will be wiped out easily.

    Mardle: Who's in charge!!

Wrights first dart is way off tonight, was nailing it last night but he’s way more wayward tonight.

He didn’t change his darts again did he?

Still very hard to call, neither has really hit their A game yet

    Smith just looks so stressed.

I wonder has he someone backstage who could have a word with him or are they on their own back there?

He seems to be mentally beating himself up over every imperfect dart and doesn’t seem to be throwing as smoothly as he has done all week. He even lurched forward (Mensoresquesly) for a final dart in that last leg which is so unSmithlike.

That was a huge set to win for Wright as all momentum was with Smith.

The crowd are really annoying the hell out of me. Booing a player in a World final.

I'm hugely up for Wright because of them.

I think the crowd are getting to Wright and he has thrown a few petulant darts

Mardle did mention Smith sometimes walking the last dart a couple of times during the week.

Smith's body language looks like that of a beaten man.

We're back to "with throw" in sets. He needs to loosen up.

I think Wright is there for the taking if he does.

Some big misses from Wright. He should be well ahead here.

What a set from Smith to take the lead.

    4-3

Smiths switching to 19s is very impressive

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,124 ✭✭✭homah_7ft

This is a tense one. Could still see either fall apart.

Wright is all over the place. Smiths heavy scoring gives him a chance in almost every leg, can he keep his nerve on the doubles?

Wright is starting to wilt. Very poor set. I wonder is fatigue playing a part here?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,025 ✭✭✭boomdocker

I think Smith wins it from here. Snakebite looks knackered to me

Indeed it does. Ireland's status has no relevance to it however. There's a Coronavirus forum for all that. Shouldn't be mentioned in a darts thread. I think we are all sick of talking about it!
