As someone else says, should be thankful that your dog was sheltered and kept safe instead of being run over or picked up and used for breeding/bait.

Given the recent coverage of the likes of Ashton pound, there are now much higher welfare standards in the pounds and it’s good to see. They have to pay for light, heat, food, staff, transport, vet care, insurance.

You should be appreciative instead of coming on here with a bullying belligerent attitude. And to go as far as to openly say you will lie to the Gardai to shirk your responsibilities, that says a lot about your own code of ethics.

Look at any of the stolen pet sites across Ireland/UK, there are heartbroken owners putting up rewards of 5k and 10k to get their pet home in cases where they have slipped out or worse still stolen from their home. Any of them would have been delighted if their dog made it to the pound.

Stand up and take responsibility for your actions instead of saying you are a victim. You are not. You broke the law.
