The champagne socialist whoring his wares in his favourite graveyard.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,471 ✭✭✭KevRossi

There'll be no reprint of his bukes. They're widely available for €6.99 in all good, bad and indifferent bookshops. He got his silver coin out of it so he doesn't give a toss about the book sales.

I had mixed feelings about the wall, it was very insensitive to have members of the Black & Tans up there on it. They could have done a separate memorial for soldiers, Tans and others. There was no real public discussion on it, it was just done, and done in a place like Glasnevin that has a certain significance to Irish people. I've been to a few of the war graves in France and Belgium, they manage to do it well there, so there is space for a compromise somewhere.

On the other hand I'm not happy with the fact that a bunch of **** who decide to deface something have won out.

Very impressive Zooming In skills Cawlur, did you do an AnCO Photography course 🤣

But gosh, the man is shameless

Are you a new Cawlur 🤔, I think your missing the point of the Thread , all very fascinating about the wall but frankly it's beyond my pay or interest scale .

This said, €6.99 for this Buke, surely a candidate for the next Fiver Friday but of course Joe Duffy doesn't do discounts when it comes to lining his Pocket, wether it be a commercial endeavour or indeed when it comes to Taxpayers money subsidising his outlandish salary, So to speak .

  • Glencree Reconciliation Centre might have been a good location for a memorial

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,471 ✭✭✭KevRossi

Yeah, thought that before. We have a well maintained graveyard there for German airmen who died bombing this country and who 'fought' for a far worse regime than any one we experienced. So could be the ideal spot.

Ahhh ha ha ha ha ha

I'd say that fella did not realise he was in the presence of a remarkable orator

    Quick question for Duffy :

    1) regarding their relatives, do those on the wall who were civilians not feel upset they were placed alongside British soldiers who thought nothing of killing Irish civilians a bit upsetting?

All to deliberately conflate the two?

    2) Mr Duffy, if there is no hierarchy on deaths, can he say he would support Provo memorials?

Can he show me ISIS and Luftwaffe memorials in the UK?

    3) Also, why wasn't he socially distancing himself with the others?

When lefties in the US deface Confederate statues = good

When Irish people deface British imperialist memorials in Ireland = bad

Clutching a copy of his death buke. Utterly, utterly shameless.

Every time I think I couldn’t possibly think less of him, he outdoes himself. He is a stain on this country.

Whoy doesn't he use some of his tax exempt profits from the buke to instal ballistic glass to protect the wall?

Thick head of Duffy doing all the finger pointing.

Expect Sinn Fein etc to get it in the neck on Monday's show.

Well well , Joseph loosing the plot , It's my wall attitude, I wrote the buke , how dare Republicans or anyone for that matter have an opinion. Arrogant bully .

I dunno but it's astonishing no one in RTE reigning this looper in, over the past few weeks he's become more and more unhinged. Fridays show particularly shocking , the almost 20 minute rant over the Eir award was just bizzare and actually disturbing, it's as if he was rambling to himself in a padded room.

Absolutely and there in lies the crux of the problem with Duffy , he's essentially being allowed to push his personal agendas without any scrutiny but even more disturbing he's allowed to take his personal vendettas onto the Airways with no accountability.

"this time in history was deeply complex and we should be mature enough to understand this" sez the guy who has a childlike black and white good guy/bad guy view of history similar to his views on contemporary happenings on the global stage, an empty vessel who never loses an opportunity to put his ignorance on display for all to see... I won't be taking any lectures from Lord Clontarf no siree

  • Someone might throw cheap red paint at it then 😂

Well Said , impossible to take Sir Duffy seriously

I think RED paint would push Duffski over the edge, altogether 😁

He really is a bombastic buffoon of the highest order.

Continually flouting his "wurkin' class man wit a wurkin' class accent and a wurkin' class wurk ettic" crap (and it is crap) that stands up to absolutely no scrutiny whatsoever, portraying himself as a man of the people when he has more in common with high-level bankers than any commoner, portraying himself as an intellectual when the most basic and rudimentary linguistic and mathematical questions confuse him, cites Larkin and Connolly as his heroes but refuses to pay PAYE tax, pig-ignorantly rude when challenged or asked to defend his position, incapable of debating on fact and only listening to voices or viewpoints that support his own, continuously flogging his wares on the airwaves and at every possible opportunity whilst fueling and allowing the public to believe the myth that the profits were going to charity, promoted and rewarded far beyond any intellect or talent, sporting an ego and a neck that even Bertie Ahern would blush at, and possibly worst of all, believing his own shoyte.

I'm going to NY later this year. I look forward to seeing the memorials to the hijackers of the 9/11 planes. They're dead too, so to speak; so I assume Joe would be fine would there being such a meorial?

    Aaaah jaysus

I can't believe I missed the show yesterday. Did Joe go to the cemetery after?

I had his birthday box in the car. Raging.

Joe, wat kind of monument should the 9/11 hijackers get in NY? A statue of a plane? A statue of a boxcutter (used to slash the throats of the pilots and air hostesses)? A statue of a computer game contoller/joystick (to represent how the hijackers learned to use the plane's controls via a PC-based flight simulator)? I'm just curious.......all the hijackers are dead too Joe like the 3,000+ people they killed through their actions that day.

    Text B for Boxcutter

    Text C for Joystick

Was there any video of him having the row, from form you know that he would start shouting... Get a grip... Get a grip, then looking around for someone to back him up,

I wonder was the picture and stand at the wall Joes..🤔.. If so he must carry it around in the boot of the car as he surely wouldn't have had time to get home and back with it..... Gerra grip 😠

  • Registered Users Posts: 26,978 ✭✭✭✭Dempo1

Obviously RTE wouldn't show any video of their prized star loosing the plot but I suspect onlookers might have footage that might be released .

I got an impression from the images, Duffy came prepared for a Plug of his Buke, our friend of da show @ButtersSuki supplied excellent close ups of the Picture displayed on dat stand, signed and all by our Host 😁

Scroll back a little, you'll see it there .

No doubt if Joe hired the stand and framed the picture, he'll be claiming a VAT refund, so to speak 😁

That would be great if there was such footage and if it were released. It doesn’t take a great leap to imagine the scene. Even in the picture Joe looks like he’s out of control while the other person is calm.

”Don’t you be givin’ me any a yer auld guff”

”Would you ever get a grip”

”I’ll calm down if you calm down”

”De wan ting day all have in common is day all do be do be do be do be all dead”
