Golf GPS

Can anybody recommend any decent golf GPS's? I recently done an update with my Garmin G3 approach which I have had for years + loved and it wiped it clean 🤬 been in touch with Garmin tried everything they suggested to be honest all you can do is keep doing update. They said because the product is discontinued there's not much they can do. They have offered me 30% discount on a upgrade but the only think the have really is the G80 which is €500! I dont like watches or wearing one while playing and hate range finders so there a non runner.

Best bet is probably to pick the Garmin G6 or G8 up second hand but theres not many about any other makes or models ppl can recommend?

Yeah Space was looking at that a bit pricey for what it does. Doesn't clip onto bag, so you either stick it on your belt or carry it in your pocket. I was looking at the G8 same price second hand but the reviews are hit and miss.

Didn't look too closely, but assumed it must come with a bag clip.

No it doesn't. I think with the Garmin G80 its extra too.. but if I get 30% of with Garmins trade up offer I might hold out as that be €350 still expensive but thats a launch monitor too

Jaysus Benny, snatch their arm off, that's a great deal. If you don't like it, you'll easily shift it on adverts and won't loose anything on it.

Hi, Does anyone have Golfbuddy WTX watch? Have had no problems with it until the last few months when anytime I go on course it won't locate satellite. Have updated firmware and courses(although it takes ages and software seems buggy). I got on to customer service and they basically told me they don't make them anymore so tough luck. Do they stop doing updates for older models? If someone had one that is still working and had any ideas I'd appreciate it.

I have this one. I have stopped using it as the battery expanded and pushed the unit out of the casing.It still works ,even have a replacement battery yet to be installed. One of those jobs left on the long finger.

Using shotscope watch now. Great bit of kit for the money, tracking etc.

just use your phone, plenty of good cheap/free apps that do more than a watch would do

Screen is also better

Just on update. I actually got my G3 to remap. It turns out my work laptop was blocking the updates and wiped it! So happy days. Yeah the reviews on the G80 not great on the launch monitor side GPS part great but a dear GPS

I know you said you didn't like the watch, but i absolutely love the Garmin S62 Approach... Great piece of kit. Feels really light on the wrist. Hardly know you're wearing it and doesn't really interfere with glove or swing etc. Pricy, but worth it.
