My brother is looking to buy a large screen tv around the size above.

Used mostly for regular viewing, streaming etc. and it's going to be wall mounted.

    Budget round €1,500.

    Thanks for the post ashdale5,

If you're looking for a great TV around that budget the best one to go for would be the Sony XR65X90JU. It's one of the best LED TVs to go for before going for OLED which are closer to the 2k mark. The Sony has a great panel with native 100Hz motion processing as well as VRR support and an Android operating system so it's great for smart features as well:

Let me know what you think of this option!

    Kind regards

    David

    Hi

Question regarding above TV which comes loaded with Youview as standard, can it be disabled and is freesat then available on it. Can Irish channels be tuned in via freeview or saorview.

Is the BBC player preloaded and what is the cost of delivery to Dublin.

    Thanks Tom

    Hi Hargo.

If you wish you can delete apps from the TV and do not have to use the preloaded ones.

The Sony does have an on board satellite tuner which will pick up the free to air satellite stations. They are not Freesat certified so there maybe some gaps/issues with the EPG displaying correctly.

The Sony can pick up the Saorivew stations with no issues.

BBC iplayer is pre installed but will not work in the south of Ireland as it is Geo locked for the UK market only.

None of the UK catch up apps will work in the South Of Ireland unfortunately.

The 65X90 is priced at 1399 Euro but it listed as an instore only collection and can not shipped at this time.
