Why won't Russia just leave Ukraine alone?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,390 ✭✭✭nigeldaniel

Divide and Rule... Maybe Russia has a plan similar to its backed units who operate a parallel line enforcement zone down the west in Libya. Putin might drive forces down a 1km line from the north to the south somewhere in the est. Then do something similar in the west from Belarus. No great need for taking any cities just split it up into parts making it impossible to rule and install puppets to run the new areas. Russia does not need to control every square inch of Ukraine just go in and muck it up as much as possible.

    Dan.

I’m more concerned about this flight in Moldova. RELAX is the call sign but doesn’t look relaxed 😂

Edit: turn your head sideways and it kinda spells out RELAX too 😎

    Hi,

Correction. They are actually f-16's. If you look at them from Plane-view 3d, you can see that they are dog fighting. Airspeed is averaging 600kts at 25,000ft.

Putin will probably make his address to the Federal Assembly within the hour. Don't expect any major announcement, but the tone and rhetoric will tell a lot.

Anyone spot the propaganda there? They used the word "axis" intentionally to make an association with the Axis powers of WWII.

    Don't be so naive.

The "west" (aka US) is always trying to control something or someone.

They definitely want to control and limit Russian power / influence. Always have, always will.

And they certainly always want to control things like Oil and Gas. No surprise then that Ukraine is a prized asset to them. Russia provides 25% of Europe's gas (much more in the future) and 80% of that gas is piped through... you guessed it, Ukraine. And they share a massive border with Russia, with highly strategic port access that could cut Russia off geographically if they were to allow Ukraine to fall into western control.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure some of this stuff out.

But of course western propaganda will play the simplistic rhetoric about Ukrainian sovereignty, and many simple minded folk will lap it up and ask for seconds. Just like they did with Iraq etc etc. Some people never seem to learn.

That is the funniest thing I've seen all week. Absolutely hilarious. Biden the stone cold master manipulator LMFAO

It's almost if the Russians were lying when they said they were pulling troops off the border.

But putin is looking desperate ,

Biden has been excellent throughout all of this. Putin starting to spit the soother out now by the looks of things.

Although things are beginning to look bleak I'm still hoping sense will prevail here for Putin and he will realise that if he invades it will be a disaster for Russia. Feel sorry for the Ukrainian people.

What normal person wouldn't want to limit Russian power and influence?

Russian power and influence is about lies, disinformation, criminality, terror, and the jackboot.

With one, and only one exception, Russian power and influence has proven to be overwhelmingly a terrible thing for the world, and for Russia itself.

They did they moved some but brought thousands more to the border ..

Kinda like when you’re only allowed free parking for a max of 2 hours so when the times up, you get in your vehicle and move it a few feet away to reset the timer 😂

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,422 ✭✭✭Snooker Loopy

Let's also not forget, when considering what "Russian power and influence" has done to the world, that the USSR was responsible for the shameless collaboration deal with the Nazis which allowed the Nazis to invade Poland, thus starting World War II. The USSR invaded Poland at the same time as the Nazis and the USSR got its chunk of Poland too.

The current day Russia shares eerie similarities with the Nazi regime.

Yaşar Halit Çevik, the chief monitor of the OSCE special monitoring mission, has said that there were 500 explosions overnight along the front line, mostly in the Luhansk oblast. “It’s critically important to deescalate immediately to avoid further aggravation of the situation,” Çevik said.

It's going to ramp up until putin gets his excuse to end the Genocide of russians in Ukraine ,

Or what he really wants is the 600,000 Russian passport holders in Ukraine to have the ability to Veto and control any political decisions in Ukraine , forget the 45 million Ukrainians having a voice or say in their own country's and their own futures

Only person mentioning 'Jews' is you. What is it with your insidious language, have you not learned your lesson telling lies about homophobic posts?

  • Registered Users Posts: 468 ✭✭Shao Kahn

    You are being naive.

This is all about power and control, and the US are not the shining knight riding in on their white horse to save the beautiful Ukrainians that they care so much about. The yanks don't give a crap about the Ukrainian people.

Putin understands perfectly the game that is being played right now.

Putin is not a perfect guy, but the real thugs are the Yanks trying to control every piece of the pie. And they have many people fooled into thinking they are "keeping the world safe". Bullsh!t.

Christ Biden really wants this conflict, nauseating watching supporters of mass killing parading themselves as paragons of virtue.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,426 ✭✭✭MFPM

One not allowed mention US acts of imperialism as they're historic, yet lads here discussing invasion of Poland 90 years ago!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,422 ✭✭✭Snooker Loopy

The Ukrainian people seem to think the US cares far more about them than Russia will ever do, and objective evidence would suggest they are entirely correct on that.

I suppose to Putin fanbois like like you, the Ukrainian people should have no say in what they themselves think.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,422 ✭✭✭Snooker Loopy

The Russian criminal regime likes to mention Jews, specifically to whip up hatred against Ukraine.

The irony of course is that it was the Soviet regime which Putin so loves to glorify that collaborated with the Nazis.

    https://cepa.org/russia-plays-the-antisemitic-card-in-ukraine/

He accused the Ukrainian people of losing their identity (which for him and his colleagues is Russian) and described Zelenskyy as disgusting, corrupt, and faithless, having repudiated his (Jewish) identity to serve rabid nationalists. This, Medvedev continued, meant Ukraine’s head of state resembled a Jewish Sonderkommando, a reference to those incarcerated Jews forced on pain of death to dispose of gas chamber victims during the Holocaust. Negotiations with such people and such a state are, therefore, “pointless,” he said.

Hard to find anyone who had a lower opinion on and a lower value for Russian lives than those in the Kremlin for the last few centuries.
