Let the argument about sanctions start, it's not a full invasion gives Germany The Dutch Austria etc a way to minimize them and leave work arounds.

Meanwhile cut gas, grain and fertilizer etc to Europe. That will have a globally significant impact, enough pain to go around. Export the vast grain it has to buy friendship in a world where food is once again viewed as essential and not a convenience.

The west is quite happy for this to go on for awhile. Gives the Ukrainians more time to harden their defenses, pushes Europe to divest itself from Russian energy, and serve as a drain on their economy. I imagine there will be plenty of support for the Ukrainian government, low interest loans and the like, tied to further reform and anti corruption efforts.

Ah Shao Khan, you should admit like a good few others on thread you do have a bit of sneaking regard for Mr. Putin and other autocrats & strongmen + their methods.

Tone comes through in all your posts and contrasts with what you think of Western leaders. Just own it, even though it does you no credit. I suppose that is why you fight it if it gets mentioned in a response. Maybe it is going at the man rather than the arguments but it does grate a bit.

The scary thing is people like you vote and your vote has equal weight to anyone elses! Well Hitler was voted in (just about), Trump + the Grand Qanon Party nearly won the last US presidential election so I shouldn't be surprised really. Maybe there's 15-20 % of "them" in every democracy even when things are going well let alone when things are not good.
