Just starting an outdoor job and it's completely calm - Dublin. No sign yet half way through the orange warning, beyond a wet night. So far Dudley was much worse, as I encountered a couple of trees down and wires down also. Not sure what to expect now.

Here on exposed part of south coast near Kinsale. We have wind even on “calm” days. It was relatively quiet for the last couple of hours but in the last 20 mins or so, the wind has gone into overdrive here. Quite something. Can’t remember it being this bad for a long time. Feels like house is going to take off.

was just thinking of yourselves and the sherkin island'ers etc - this sort of wrap around is terrible for islands.

Eastern Half of the country won’t have strong wind till later this morning, so don’t panic yet.

Wind was blustery with some gusts that shunted the car at 6.00am died back now and not a bad day here in Waterford at the moment. Just going through the pictures from Tramore, some good waves after the high tide and into the surge

Finally!! It has started snowing and the wind has picked somewhat.

Agree completely. Red warning ends in 15 mins and yet main storm just starting. My office advised no one to come in before 9.30am, i.e. don't start commute until after 8am. Clearly peak here will be 8am to 10am.

This is what it was like for us until about a half an hour ago. I thought it was over. Then this crazy wind came out of nowhere. I expect you will get something like that in Waterford soon, at least along the coast.

Lights flickering in cork city, rarely happens.

Arrival of strong winds later than forecast yesterday in the Dublin area, now not expected until around 11 and not as bad as expected either but still gale force. Lucky escape for us, just going to be a pretty normal winters day here. Some wintery showers forecast this evening, maybe we can finally see some of the white gold this winter !!

I'm in Cork, close to the sea. The gusts are very strong now. The whole house shakes when the gusts hit. Wind was hitting the front of the house during the night, it is now hitting the back. Lights are flickering.

Fair lively here in South clare at the moment

Winds picked up a bit in east cork. Nothing crazy like. Lights flickering.

Quite blustery in North Kildare during the night, lots of alarms going off, roof creaking.

Eerily quiet and still this morning getting up and heading to work and it's similarly eerily quiet now in Castleknock.

I'll probably know once it's hit home as we are almost guaranteed to lose power to the whole area during very windy days!

Red warning ends in cork at 8 what a joke it's only started here.

Rte,s Armageddon reporting is why alot of people don't take weather reports serious.

Russia and Ukraine must be on hold this morning.

Are you up in Malin Head? This crazy wind is more important to us on the south coast this morning than anything going on in Ukraine! :)
