This 5" one works a dream for us. We have this one, and a retired chef we know called it 'the best pepper grinder he's had'.

I had Peugeot salt and pepper grinders which looked great but really didn't work very well at all.

A few years ago, I picked up some Oxo good grips grinders and they are the best I've ever had. Pretty cheap, too.

Sorry to disappoint you, the worst spice/salt mill you could buy. With every mill you get plastic into your dish.

You can do a quick study at home. Buy black plastic mill, fill with white sea salt gives good few mills on a white piece of paper. Take your phone camera and magnify to see black plastic particles.

I thought the Peugeot ones were supposed to be good as well ..

( Maybe they went through a dodgy early 2000s spell , like the cars 😂)

The spice mill has a ceramic grinding mechanism which works on dried herbs and spices as well as salt. Empty the spices into the glass jar by sliding the plastic casing upwards and unscrewing the grinder. A setting on the top of the spice mill allows you to decide how finely you wish to grind the contents (see sketch). The spice mill is specially adapted for use with IKEA 365+ spice jars, so you can fit the grinder directly to the jars and easily change spices and herbs
