Led lights flickering

Is there any reason that some of my wall/ceiling led lights are flickering?

I have a bathroom flat light which has an led bulb that has a small flicker. This evening it is fairly windy out and the flickering is a lot worse.

I also have two wall lights connected to one dimmer switch with dimmer module. The led ses bulbs flicker when turned down low, the tungsten ses bulbs don't flicker.

There could be a number of reasons for this.

Has it happened ever since the LED lights were installed? If so, you may need to have the transformer change i.e. if it was previously used for non-LED bulbs. Transformers for non-LED bulbs often step-down the voltage but leave it as AC, this will cause a flicker then if LED lights are connected as they will only be on for half of the cycle. LED transformers/drivers are smaller and more energy efficient so no harm to get this done in any case.

As for the flicker when turned down low. Not all LED lights are dimmable. And those that are may require a specific setup e.g. suitable transformer and dimmer switch.

It is flickering since the dimmer switch went in, but only the leds on the wall. The led on the ceiling which is connected to the second dimmer dial on the same dual dimmer switch and with a regular dimmer led bulb, is not flickering.

Did the wall LEDs dim successfully before with a different dimmer switch? What voltage are the wall LEDs operating off e.g. 12 V via a transformer?

The regular switch was only changed to dimmer in December. It was fitted with 2no. dimmer modules for ceiling light and wall lights. Both bulbs on the wall light dimmer flicker. The ceiling light is fine, no flicker. I had an electrician in to replace an outdoor light and I asked him to have a look. He agreed it wasn't right and that it could be a faulty module. The shop will give me a different one but I just wondered was it something else because of the led in the bathroom flickering. I have a fair few leds but these are the only ones giving me bother .

Give the dimmer the road. Dinosaur those things. Install some smart light bulbs.

People loose that in Boyle sports every day. Local recycling centre with what you bought and put it down to a bad experience.

Seriously, don't use dimmers and LED's. Have put in several of them for relatives and none of them have worked for long. I've matched the dimmer types to the bulbs, bought expensive (OSRAM and Phillips) bulbs and done everything I can find, and they simply either blow or flicker.

I now refuse to install them full stop, as someone else said, I tell people if they have to have dimmable bulbs to use 'smart' bulbs.
