There are some players involved that could probably have really good careers. Certainly Boyle looks top class, Crothers also. But I really like Culhane. Really does look top quality. Wilson the th could be very useful and I would expect to see him in the Ulster academy. McCormick is very solid and powerful and Morrissey, despite being so light is impressive.

I have not seen the last match just the highlights. In the backs there's decent players but, Mullins looks the best.

Ulsters Lorcan McLoughlin and Jude Postlethwaite have both linked up with the squad

Would expect both to start moving forward, particularly McLoughlin at 6, one of the best players in 2A this year

McNabey has been good. Can't see him sitting out.

Confirmed: The World Rugby U20 Championship and World Rugby U20 Trophy won't return until next year.

World Rugby says it is "working with its regions and unions to identify and financially support meaningful alternatives in the forms of regional tournaments" for this year.

I just watched the Blackrock v St Michaels match. I thought that there was some good talent on the field. But, it's the only school match that I've watched, so I may be over excited by these lads.

Blackrock had a fantastic th. Serious carrying unit with a great workmates. Molony in the backrow was also very good.

Michaels scrum half was very good. He takes the place kicks too. The loose head lock was also very good.

It was a great encounter and very physical. I'm not sure about the future for these lads, i.e sub academy etc. But, some good player on display.

    What happened to Wilson?

    That back line looks lethal

Paddy McCarthy(3), Gus McCarthy(2), Liam Molony(6), Rueben Molony(15) should all be in contention for next years 20s from Blackrock.

While Fintan Gunne(9), Dan Carroll(6), Sam Berman(13) and maybe Zach Baird(2) will be from St. Michaels.

That backline would make you wet...

Italy did beat Ireland in the warm ups but if I'm not mistaken Ireland had a-lot of disruption prior to the game and they had a pretty scratch pack out which got outmuscled, alot of quality has returned though so hopefully we don't see a repeat this Friday.

Italy were up and running v England! Very physical side. With skill too!

It's a tough outing for us. I can see Italy turning us over. Our lads have bee great thus far. I think this will be a cost one.

On a side note, I am working so won't be able to watch this if anyone wants to upload it, 8 won6be upset!!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 882 ✭✭✭Lsdrugbyfan

Yeah Ireland were missing Boyle, McCormick, Brownlee, Tector, COT and a few others from first game.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,726 ✭✭✭Shehal

Plus there was supposedly alot of disruption pre game to which made things even more difficult.

Indeed , if memory serves , the starting team changed multiple times through the week due to various Covid related exclusions.

That game happened in the middle of the timeframe when Leinsters Champions Cup game against Montpellier was scrapped.

Not impressed with the IC so far - generally a bit frantic.

    Is this on TV?

Too much wasted ball. Need to tighten up

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,479 ✭✭✭Paul Smeenus

    Awful lot of whistle-blowing

Is Tector an outhalf? Looks very awkward at 10.

His first two kicks to touch for penalties were poor also.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,172 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

That's a red for the Italian forward.

Wrenched an Irish player by the neck and twisted.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,479 ✭✭✭Paul Smeenus

    Beautiful

That's too serious a tackle for just a yellow.

The jerking motion around the neck was incredibly violent.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,479 ✭✭✭Paul Smeenus

    Lovely kick by Rector.

Such a needless, vindictive action by the Italian 6.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,983 ✭✭✭realhorrorshow

McCormick's throwing is excellent for this level.

  • Registered Users Posts: 69,113 ✭✭✭✭FrancieBrady

Should really only be one result here

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,091 ✭✭✭✭ Rey Hot Fork

Think he's been our best player this tournament

Italy are even more brain dead than Wales were 3 weeks ago, and that's saying something.
