Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You need a players like Minamino & Origi who can come in and play in these cup games and score goals other wise you burn out your main players.

Minamino and Origi have 14 goals between them this season and so what if they are in cup games we won one cup this season because of Minamino's goals in the early rounds.

If Minamino gets his hat-trick he will be the 4th Liverpool player to score 10 goals so far this season he is the perfect squad player.

    Jones injured replaced by Elliott.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,693 ✭✭✭✭machiavellianme

Shame, Jones was playing well whereas Elliott will get plenty of games anyway.

Shame that Jones picked up that injury. This was his moment to try and impress after being omitted from recent squads, let alone starting line ups. He was impressing too.

VAR again with a bollix decision.

    That was a clear handball.

Very low key stuff, Drama free.

VAR man with the dark glasses on again tonight. Pathetic.

Stone wall hand ball. Utterly sick of this VAR bolloxology. Maddening.

Minamino is a much improved version of what we seen early last year.

He looks to have gotten up to speed and has a decent understanding with the players around him.

He also has a habit/skill of being in the right place at the right time, good goal poacher that you can rely on to get a goal.

We've become accustomed with watching argubly the best front three in football for the last 4 years, the bar is as high as it can be, so it's tough comparing Taki to the regular front 3.

We'll get Chelsea in next round.

    City will get Boreham Wood.

Origi wants a goal. Was a bit selfish there.

Konate has everything to be the best CB in the universe for the future.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,928 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

That was a cracker of a goal to be fair from Norwich.

    Gomez poor.

    Sargent just ghosts past Konate.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,037 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Excellent goal in fairness, used Gomez really well to hide the shot direction.

This second half has been dreadful! Full time whistle can’t come soon enough.

Ox making absolutely certain that he is done! No leaders left on the pitch since Hendo went off. Milner ropey since half time, ET on Sunday taking its toll on him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 775 ✭✭✭patsy sally

Diaz is so full of energy only on pitch for few minutes, but every time he touches the ball you expect something is going too happen

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,928 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

That will do onto West Ham now.

A few potential nice ties left, hopefully we get a good one and Chelsea/City get each other. League Cup in the bag, quarter final of the FA cup, one foot in the quarter final of the CL and just a few points back in the league. Not sure I've looked forward to an end of a season more.

Comfortable win, if unimpressive in getting it. A touch of after the Lord Mayor’s Ball about it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,723 ✭✭✭Cartman78

Milner doing a passable Guy Martin impression there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,293 ✭✭✭✭rob316

Job done into the next round, team well rotated.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,798 ✭✭✭Ken Tucky

Think Joe will be sitting down for the rest of the season because of that.

Wouldn't accept that in the lowest level of football...very very poor

  • Registered Users Posts: 136 ✭✭foozzybear61

Think we have had better luck with ties this season , saying that you will probably be right . Chelsea or Everton ?

We all know at this stage that Gomez needs games to be sharp, and how good he is when he's up to speed - he got his first 90 is over two months in the last Norwich game, and another 90 today. The more time he can get on the field, the more useful he'll be if called upon (whether at RB or CB), so that's a win for today really. Also looked generally sharper than he has for much of this stop-start season.

It's a really horrific injury he's coming back from - the worst of last seasons 3 bad ones - with a whole bunch of physical setbacks this year, so I'm glad to see the club doing their bit to properly rehab him and give him minutes now that he's physically able for it.

Would be nice to get 2 easy draws in the 2 cups, need handy enough games with the fixture pile up

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,037 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Be lovely to get Boro... they'll be putting a lot of focus on their promotion campaign at that stage, as well as likely being the only non-Prem side remaining (assuming Everton don't lose to Boreham Wood tomorrow).

Boro at our place would be fantastic or City at our place to knock them out,

But it'll be City or Chelsea away ,

Joe Gomez is becoming very frustrating he can be absolutely world class for 89 minutes and then make a big mistake,

To be fair he needs a run of games to straighten it out but i can't see im getting it without some esle being injured ,

Its the same kind of mistake with Joe every time . its always a line issues , either stands up when everyone drops but mostly he ****'s the bed and drops when everyone steps up which is worse,

Again last night he dropped off instead of confronting the player, I do wonder if big Virg was beside him would he get the shout to go to the player and just go do it,

He has everything in his game once he straightens this problem out, again its hard for him to fix without a good run ,

Just on the goal last night,of course Gomez should of done better and not backed away but Ox got caught ball watching and didn't track his man

Why is there talk of us going back into a Super League sans Arsenal and Chelsea 😬

If it went ahead would mean Arsenal would win the league with a point deduction, some gooners getting excited...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,081 ✭✭✭Fromvert

The next round of FA Cup games come a week after we play City and that City game is sandwiched between the CL quarter finals. We're going to get City in both and we'll play them four times over 11/12 days just for maximum stress levels on the fans aren't we.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,488 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Actually you see that a lot for some reason, teams that play each other in the league, draw each other and end up playing twice in a row.. So yea, looks like it will 100% be City in the cup.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,503 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Reminds me of the time there were about 5 El Clasicos in a month.

I wouldn’t mind seeing it happen, as long as we won all four matches.

Is the draw before or after the game?

Meant to be before it apparently. Around 7:45 i think.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,928 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

    Away to Forrest or Huddersfield.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,293 ✭✭✭✭rob316

Good draw and tough games for city and Chelsea.

Happy with that. Great chance of getting into the semi with a rotated team.
