Tuimauga would be scrumming against Alaalatoa for Samoa training, they probably know each other fairly well and are around the same age. I imagine Connacht would like Tuimauga back LH given the play Leinster 3 times in the next four games. Will be tough going moving him around so much

Peter Dooley gets a mention lol

Porch didn't have a torn ACL when we signed him.

Aungier looked good when he came on v the Stormers. Hopefully he gets a run of games and can kick on.

Hawkshaw for Hansen (initialy signed to play 10) -with McNulty too, TOH might leave-

    A.Byrne for 0'Donnell

    Dooley for Tuimauga/McCoy

    Charlie Ryan for Dillane

Josh Murphy for Papali'i (Prendergast/Butler back-up 8 when Boyle is rested)

    Forde for Robb

    Jennings for Arnold

    Kilgallen for Healy

    McCormack/Booth for one of Mastersons

D.Murray for Fifita'a (which might leave even if Connacht staff paid tribute) OR for the other Masterson (if both leave for Scotland)

Disagree, we won't have more players than this year

"no-one" means I don't think we can sign anyone in some positions

    We'll have "covers" into brackets

    Buckley - Dooley - Duggan - Burke

    Heffernan - Delahunt - DTM - no-one (Adamson)

Bealham - Augnier - Tuimuaga OR Finn - Illo

    N Murray - Dowling - D Murray

    Thornbury - Charlie Ryan - no-one (Josh.Murphy)

    Prendergast - Murphy - Booth

    Oliver - Butler - McCormack

    Boyle - no-one (Murphy/Prendergast/Butler/D.Byrne)

    23 senior forwards

Marmion - Blade - Reilly (which one will be kept?) (Devine)

Carty - Fitz - Hawkshaw (Daly)

    Hansen - Wootton - Kilgallen

    Bundee - Daly - Forde

    Farrell - Bolton - Jennings

    Byrne - Sullivan (O'Connor)

    Porch - Mcnulty - no one (Fitz/Wootton/Hansen)

    19 senior backs

    42 squad players.

    Can't afford more

I think McNulty can push on and be a starter. He's a good find, could be a real gem!

Forde and Hennings will be top quality, imo. I really am looking forward to watching their progress

Hawkshaw could be a real find too. He's not rated as a 10, but it could be coached into him.

Tierney-Martin has been a disappointment so far. I thought he'd be in the 23 every week. Hopefully, he gets there.

Lots of Academy graduates but they are promising and age profile isn't bad overall :

    Post-Academy graduates (+ Illo and Kilgallen) : 8

    23-25 (+McNulty) : 13

    25-30 : 14

    30+ : 7

Poor return from possession so far. Sammy Arnold is going to get a card one of these days for having a big mouth.

Well that was a bad few minutes after leading 8-0. 14-8 down now.

    Two great tries for Edinburgh.

I said it in the Munster thread the other week but the Edinburgh back 3 has serious quality.

Need some good leadership from Connacht to stop capitulation

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,971 ✭✭✭randomname2005

    Fscking maul defense again.

21 points conceded in 10 minutes. Not ideal.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,982 ✭✭✭realhorrorshow

We've found it hard to score and easy to concede. Worrying how easily Edinburgh have shredded us since they've decided to stop playing out the back unnecessarily and dropping the ball. Our defence is just bad there's no way around it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,128 ✭✭✭testtech05

Jesus talk about a half of 2 half's. We should have been out of site after 20 mins and only had 3 points to show for it.

Maul defense has improved but was very poor for the last try. Really don't help ourselves at times.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

That pass from Boyle to Kinghorn was a mile forward.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,128 ✭✭✭testtech05

The exact start we didn't want all from failure to receive the kick off.

Another part of the game we are consistently poor at it seems.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,521 ✭✭✭typhoony

That's 2 tries where Daly and Arnold were badly at fault.

Not sure who the linesman was calling offside against there thought it was a fair turnover by Blade.

And leads to another shockingly soft try

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,982 ✭✭✭realhorrorshow

Defence on that last try was atrocious. Looks like we've never played together before.

Very harsh. Almost Purgos blocking the Connacht kicker on the chase 20 seconds before that
