Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Why is mane so sad when he scores?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,843 ✭✭✭✭yourdeadwright

Naby been a bit off today

I fancy Jota to come on and score

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,510 ✭✭✭✭noodler

Need the second goal here you reckon.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,044 ✭✭✭steve_r

Linesman calls delayed because they are watching the match on a dodgy stream

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,404 ✭✭✭✭Vicxas

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,805 ✭✭✭mightyreds

Very open at the back, need another should be 3 up at this stage

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,797 ✭✭✭Ottoman_1000

I know it's part of how we play but looking at Liverpool these days with this high defensive line is not good for the heart!!!

We've played with this high line for three years now. Where have you been?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,791 ✭✭✭✭Charlie19

I love Diaz busting a gut to get back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,661 ✭✭✭DJIMI TRARORE

    Gud lad Naby, brilliant

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,843 ✭✭✭✭yourdeadwright

We've been absolutely pants in the second half

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,389 ✭✭✭✭TitianGerm

That was some pass by Noble. We'd be singing TAAs praise if he made that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,797 ✭✭✭Ottoman_1000

Yes but this year in particular we seem to be given away way more chances than the previous years (I'm not counting the 2nd half of last season when we had 550 different centre half partnerships)!!

Are we giving away chances or would they be called back for offside in a lot of cases though?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,081 ✭✭✭Fromvert

Someone needs to go down injured and kill a few minutes so they can get their heads together. All over the place

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,503 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Feels like the Brighton game all over again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,797 ✭✭✭Ottoman_1000

None of the clear ones WH today would have been called back anyway!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,805 ✭✭✭mightyreds

    Good foul from jota

The final decisions have been pretty brutal today. Shooting into crowds, bad touches at vital times, going alone instead of passing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,503 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Great win, they all count for 3 points.

West Ham were brilliant in defence and dangerous in attack, so 1-0 is absolutely fine there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,928 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

A win is a win is a win.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,874 ✭✭✭hynesie08

Beating that West Ham team was never a foregone conclusion, but they did enough, and sometimes enough is enough.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,081 ✭✭✭Fromvert

Just keep winning, 7 wins on the bounce now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,985 ✭✭✭ebbsy

    Hairy one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 775 ✭✭✭patsy sally

3 points is what matters didn't see any of the game but looking at comments here wasn't the best performance, but at least they got the win in the end

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,363 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

Got away with that a little.

    Couldn't give a shít.

    Take the points and run.

We really have that winning 'knack' at the minute.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,293 ✭✭✭✭rob316

That was always going to be a tough game, west ham no mugs this season. We could of played far better though in the final 3rd and konate isn't used to holding that high line as well as matip, some really desperate defending at times.

3 points though all that matter, keep the pressure on city.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,196 ✭✭✭McFly85

Delighted with that 3 points. West Ham are a team with pace that look like they love playing against a high press - finishing on both sides wasn’t great but thankfully we managed to edge it.

Salah wasn’t great but that was mostly to do with the job West Ham did on him. Diaz is an instant favourite - always looks like making something happening. Thank god he didn’t go to Spurs!

Only thing missing from Díaz is goals, hopefully they come. Mo was awful once he missed that early chance. Did well to stay on as long as he did. Points all that matter. Now let's hope Ralfs tragic Red devil's can be less tragic than usual tomorrow.

United just don't lose games, has only happened once since Ralf took over last Nov. Hopefully they can keep that going for at least one more game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,797 ✭✭✭Ottoman_1000

I seen that stat today. Quite mad they have only lost one game since November considering how erratic their performances have been!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,928 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Looks like Hoever's Wolves career is over after the manager said...

"I don't waste time with guys who don't work hard."

We really did rob them for Jota.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,488 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Yep, sitting in 4th for a reason, never fail to put points on the board...until tomorrow no doubt

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,612 ✭✭✭eigrod

Trent was brilliant again today. Yet another assist and defended really well. What a talent he is.

Need MU to step up tomorrow. I’m not confident, they are crap, but there is always a chance in a derby.

  • Registered Users Posts: 391 ✭✭bdmc16

The way we have recently churned out tough wins against West Ham, Burnley , Chelsea and Inter (when really under the cosh) reminds of season we won league.

Real resilience, luck and churning out CS sheets. Says a lot for DIaz that salah and mane have been subbed off before him. Great player

Be nice for the team to have a week off..that display was one of grit but in fairness to WH they were good apart from the finishing part of it.

On to Inter..I hope its a procession but no doubt there will be drama

    It's our only way...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,488 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

WH are a solid team, it was a great victory. Diaz was amazing, everything he did was absolute class, even showed Salah up. He's trying so hard to get goals

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,488 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Our goal was tight, but it was a super fast call, I fear if they had done the usual with us, they'd have looked at for 15 minutes and come up wit a way to make it offside. I think it was a fast call because of the handball in Everton game

MOTD called it offside in play, '' Mane just leaning off side'' then surprised it was a goal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,488 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Wrighty showing multiple times we should have played the final pass, but the player shot on goal himself, 5 times we could have played it to the free man, we have 3 glory hunters in Mane, Salah, and Diaz, Kloop needs to have a word, and point out these same things when reviewing the game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,805 ✭✭✭mightyreds

As tight as it was today we really should have been 3 up and out of sight at half time, salahs 1 on 1 and the pinball football that stayed out. Hopefully we settle in the final third soon and get back to putting them away.

necos effort yesterday for fulham wow...that move has given him confidence

The Manchester derby really is a win-win here, or maybe even big win-little win. Small chance of city dropping points, and its always funny seeing man u lose

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,105 ✭✭✭mada999

was hoping that they would get maybe a point but utd are absolutely useless... there's no fight in them at all.... city are first to every ball...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,188 ✭✭✭mosstin

Watching Maguire here and remembering that he cost more than Virg - remarkable transfer for them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,305 ✭✭✭Widdensushi

Jesus, he does a dummy to set up city second goal and deflects the third in.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,410 ✭✭✭facehugger99

What an awful team Man UTD are. No pride, no fight, players strolling around the pitch in a derby.

Hopefully Liverpool hammer them at Anfield and knock them into the Europa League.
