AppleGreen rewards - is fuel cheaper?

I'm not sure of my posting this in the correct section, however somebody might be able to help. I've been using the AppleGreen rewards program however, I only scan my barcode when I'm buying a car wash so I can avail of a free car wash further down the line.

I'm curious, does having the applegreen rewards program reduce the cost of fuel every time I fill up? I've tried searching on the AG website and generally on Google and I can't find any reference to it reducing the cost of fuel. All it seems to do is offer cheap tea and coffee and free car washes.

I suppose what I'm referring to is what circle-k offer with AXA with the discounted fuel card.

Can anyone advise, and mods, please forgive if this is in the wrong section.

No it's not a fuel discount. ~~They have Fuelgood which is 4c off per litre, but as with all fuel cards you need to make sure that the purchase price isn't 5c dearer than the next station.~~

Looks like it's a PR scam, it's supposed to save you the equivalent of 4c a litre!!

If you want to save money on fuel you need to sign up to a fuel card. But you need to understand how the card works as sometimes the price can be more than at the pumps. The x cent off per litre is usually tied to another company promotion.

The majority of the fuel cards I've seen online seem to be based around commercial use only. At this stage I'll consider adding some vegetable oil into the diesel tank.

You can get most fuel cards as a private user but the rate is not worth it.

Vegetable oil will kill the injectors on any diesel car made in the last few decades; and is also illegal to do without paying the full excise duty on it anyway. Plus its not particularly cheap either!

I disagree that a fuel card rate is not worth it. It depends on the fuel card provider and the volume. Generally, the higher the volume, the better the price. But as I said, no same provider so it's worth to shop around instead of just saying that 'it's not worth it' while it actually is.
