i would say he is very happy, no doubt about it in fact.

lol, you must be part of his family to be so sure about everything! 😁

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,081 ✭✭✭✭end of the road

thankfully not, but it's common sense really to be sure he is happy given the life he has now which is a reasonably good life v his life as a working member of the rf which dispite all the trappings really isn't all that.

I wouldn't think a life in the royal family is great, at all. I have extensive experience dealing with people who have close protection. It's not a nice easy life. Can't even go to the shop for a litre of milk without police beside you, it's fairly ****. Be you a VIP or in witness protection.

However, considering he wants protection, and seems to have a serious problem with not having police protection.......it seems a bit of a stretch to suggest he is happy that he has left! It appears that he actually wants the protection.........so maybe not so happy then........😉

It's worth remembering that they both proposed splitting their time between the UK and North America and staying on as part time working Royals. That's despite all the alleged racism as well. In addition Harry said he was sad at having to step down when that proposal didn't fly. I'd say they wanted a similar gig as Eugenie i.e. forging some career path based on their interests but still linked to the BRF via patronages and charities. My guess is that it was the prospect of, and intention of them branding the Royals (SussexRoyal) and making some endorsement and appearance money via such links is what irked the more conservative types in the monarchy, that it would be setting a precedent, jumping on a slippery slope etc. I think Harry may well have a resting sad face because he might feel manipulated by Meghan’s suicide ideation. Like you'd do for any suicidal loved one, you remove them from a situation fuelling such ideation i.e. a press which turned on them and the fishbowl like life as a Royal. Harry then subsequently removed Meghan from that life as despite his sadness at stepping down, it was the right thing to do. No one right minded would disbelieve Meghan suggesting she struggled mentally. However, the penny dropped for many in the Oprah PR rehabilitation driven interview with Meghan’s spiel about HR being unhelpful and the suits in the monarchy saying she can't get help because "it wouldn't look good". I'm sure Harry is aware of his own openness regarding his mental health with the clincher being the idea of two future Kings also being open and honest about their mental health struggles. That skewered Meghan’s reasoning and struck me as victim playing. Couple that with the "unfortunate lapse of memory" court findings or the pulling at heart strings calculation regarding her father and I'd say Harry grasps that he's involved with someone very manipulative but is of the resigned attitude that he made his bed and over the past two years he just radiates unease as he sleeps in it. He may well be pondering if his own heart strings were being pulled at.

Can’t face family as he knows what he’s written about them in his book.

interesting in his statement that he hopes to visit his grandmother soon - he didn’t say ‘family’, or mention his father and brother.

Yet he’s flying to the Netherlands the following week. “But the Duke will fly to Europe for a visit to the Netherlands in mid-April for the Invictus Games, a sporting event for military veterans founded by Harry in 2014.  “

Probably couldn’t be away from home that long.

Megan needs the feeling of being superior & elite a " let them eat cake " attitude. She is singlehandedly destroying any status they had and social media makes it harder to fool the yanks these days. She married the spare & he is 6th in line so not the best catch, another loafer like Andrew with no path so therefore can get into trouble like Princess margaret & andrew & now harry. Maybe they should only breed one heir and get any other males fostered out or get them apprenterships in factories a bit of the real world maybe.

Funny how he feels safe in |LA where there are more guns than anywhere in the world and he doesnt feelsafe in the UK where guns are a lot harder to get hold of. Of course machetes are the weapon of choice in London. I think he wants police protection for Netflix to make them seem important . I think he should hire actors and dress them up make his movie get paid and then retire off the world stage as he is not taken seriously. His toxic followers dont know when to stay down and attacking Zelensky for not acknowledging them is a perfect example of how ignorant their cult followers are. Zelenksky knows they are not the main royal family he wont annoy the real deal for a two bit actress and her gimp..

So he won’t be attending his grandfathers memorial service at the end of the month but hopes to see his grandmother, the queen as soon as possible ? I’ve got that right I think. Wouldn’t him going to the memorial service achieve his aim of meeting his grandmother as well as honouring his grandfather ? Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t understand his mindset there.

H e wants headlines and to be kept in the minds of people any publicity is better than none. He is delusional poor fella he should have listened to his brother and stayed out of the "big bad earn a living world !!" he is out of his depth as he was protected his whole life....... now he is well & truly in the celebrity rat race circus and he has to fight for column inches every single day whereas if he stayed home he would have those inches automatically. megan has put the poor fucker on gerbil wheel for the rest of his life to support her,.

He’d have full protection at the Memorial, as the whole Royal Family will be there. He’s really making a right pigs ear out of things. Poor fool.

It can’t be easy to go pretend with family you’ve fallen out with.

I don’t like him, but I think he made the harder decision by not going, just for the sake of going.

I've been following this guy for a while.

(probably some one on this thread mentioned him)

He's a body language expert and his videos are very insightful.

He thinks he is punishing his father & the queen by not attending when in fact he is only punishuing himself and generating even more hatred towards the woman he married. He needs a good British PR firm as the yanks dont get it and their direction is not any good for future relations they dont understand the history & the royal family they only understand diva film stars & celebs. Everyday they advise him they hoist the rope even higher for his eventual fall to the bottom.

philip was his grandfather so he wouldn't specifically need to be invited.

the daily mail automatically gives him headlines no matter what so if headlines is what he wants then he is getting them because the daily mail can't let go that they lost what was to be a big money maker for them.

no he was definitely right to get the hell out regardless of what consequences that may bring because it will be better for him in the long run.

it's not him generating any hatred to meghan, that is a mix of the british tabloids throwing the toys out of the pram and those who latch off their every word.

if he attended the memorial they would still find some way to twist something, anything against meghan and blame her for something.

they can't deal with the fact he got sick of the lot of them and decided to f off with his wife and (at the time) child.

This doesn't make any sense to me. Since the Oprah interview the British tabloid press have been given more reason to report sensational stories concerning M&H than they ever could have wished for. Where are the sensational front page stories for Prince Andrew and Kate. No, none. All the tabloid press can report of them them is what Kate is wearing. It is controversies the tabloid press relish, which is exactly what Harry and Kate have given them.

He cannot attend his grandads memorial, but can attend a sporting gig in The Netherlands shortly afterwards. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-10606221/Prince-Harry-launches-awkward-promo-video-Invictus-Games.html

For me, family comes first. Everything else takes second place. Shame on him.

the british tabloid press had been reporting on meghan and harry long before the interview, mainly how meghan was aweful because reasons.

with them remaining in the UK there would have been more ability for the tabloidds to get stories and all else but with them being outside it and the RF it is more difficult hence them scraping anything they can together and throwing the toys out of the pram.

a week later, meaning inability to attend something else at an earlier time.

for family to come first both would have to be on at the same time, then there would be an argument for prioritisation.

but with that not being the case it sounds like there are genuine reasons why he may not be able to attend the memorial.

ultimately i don't know nor to be honest care as i'm not a mind reader and only he will know the reasons why he is unable to attend.

Surely you realise that a royal family event isn't the same as dinner at grandma's? You can't just drop in uninvited, and there will be sufficient security to escort you from the premises if you try.

He might not want to attend, he might not have been invited, or maybe Meghan was excluded, but Harry can't just rock up to events whenever he feels like it. I doubt many senior members of the royal family can, nevermind one that's walked away.

he wouldn't be dropping in uninvited, invited for him is different to non-members and far out members.

He would be if he wasn't invited though! You don't just walk in and go straight to where the queen is, no matter who you are. 😂😂😂

Wasn't he even complaining that he couldn't get his father to take his calls? I'm not sure why you don't understand this.

the invitation process for close members would in all likely hood be different to everyone else.

it's you who mentioned him simply walking up to the queen, i never mentioned that at all so there is nothing for me to understand.
