Watson holding on to the tackle for about 5 seconds after Barnes called tackle. Must have told him 3 times.

    Clinical.

If Scotland are gonna keep leaking 5m penalties, they'll be down to 14.

Delighted for Healy after some clueless fools tried to blame him for the scrum last week.

I think Catt alluded to that during the week and getting them to heads up rugby against it, the sexton kick and Hansen chase being a good example.

how far back you allowed to go these days? in that the forward pass was not looked at

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 434 ✭✭tooka

I think Ireland since the French game have been poor.

Yeah. Me. I don't know if it's issues with westerly winds trying to hit against my dish.

When I watched Wales vs Italy on BBC One HD earlier the picture was absolutely perfect with no glitch whatsoever.

Furlong laughing coz he never makes turnover penalties.

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 8,576 ✭✭✭fitz

Tbf, he did push himself forward with his feet while placing it, could have gone the other way.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,471 ✭✭✭_NAGDEFY

Nice to see Tadhg smiling again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

I thought he didn’t explain himself well, but Schoeman looked to shuffle on his knees before grounding the ball. The final replay before the restart showed it clearest.

big call indeed, but the maul has been working well so far

    ETA: not this time

Why not take the three points there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Giving Scotland a foot in the door when they’ve done nothing to deserve it.

Lads, we've had big issues the last few weeks in the transfer of the ball when setting up the maul. England turned us over at least twice last weekend using the same method.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,471 ✭✭✭_NAGDEFY

I must be in the minority but I like Wayne Barnes.

Healy was warned by barnes at the start of that scrum .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,471 ✭✭✭_NAGDEFY

Little similarities to 2010. Not putting the Scots away. Hopefully a bit more clinical in the second half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,227 ✭✭✭blackcard

Ireland have been very poor in their last 3 matches, should be stuffing an extremely limited Scottish team

Strange first half. We aren't at our best intensity wise. Scotland are competing very hard and challenging us quite a bit.

That being said, I think we have an extra gear and if we can hit that consistently for 20 minutes we should ease away. I think our forwards, when they hit their markers right, show more grunt and handling ability than their Scottish peers.

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 8,576 ✭✭✭fitz

Get a try early in the second and the Scots will collapse. Don't think they'll be able to stick this pace either. Think we'll put 6 tries on them by the end.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

It was strange, he told Kinghorn that “they’re reviewing something but go ahead and tee it up” before he was called to look at their try. You’d almost be lead to believe he wouldn’t back himself down. He considers himself eagle eyed to see it was a try but missed a handful of forward passes 40 seconds earlier. Strange one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 434 ✭✭tooka

If Ireland win which they should same people who said England was a good performance would want to take their rose tinted glasses off

we are some boys for the errors and silly turnovers when tries are on

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,222 ✭✭✭✭Larbre34

100%. Scotland are blowing themselves out for little reward.

A few mistakes on our part for sure, but you can see the gear being kept low and our final 20 minutes will mince them.
