You've been invited to a gathering in a pub but want to know if you need someone to escort you there? Don't you already know these people?

    Bring body armour!!!

To be fair, I don't think that it's as bad now as it was in its heyday.

Its a good pub with good quality drink. They have a Function Room upstairs which can be accessed through the main lounge. It had a bit of a bad name about 10 years ago but its a respectable pub now. You won't see any trouble in it.

It's called the westside tavern now, I've never seen any trouble in there and I've been there quite a few times. Although I've rarely stayed there for the night, mainly just for a couple of early pints on the way into town. It's mainly just a local pub for old men. It's not in the city centre, its about a 25 minute walk from the center though, so it's not too far out.

It not as bad as it used to be, i'm from from westside and it wouldn't be my first choice to go there for a drink but i've been there for many birthdays/ engagement parties and i've never had a problem. Just go to the piss-up and enjoy yourself

Is there a thread on this site you don't poison?

Met some really sound people in the Westside Tavern back through the years. People who would go out of their way for you, lend a helping hand, throw a few quid in a jar for a good cause. Judging people by where they happen to have a few pints is a scummy thing to do.

But let's face it Bumble, that's pretty much par for the course for you these days.

Well, they're at work right now, Bumble.

But you keep goin. I'm sure you'll dig yourself outta that hole any time now.
