The merc turns into a wallowy old hector on the sofas for some strange reason.

"Well, yeah, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"

The TV director is really starting to get on my nerves, far too many replays for too long…

  • Registered Users Posts: 55 ✭✭coltmaster

Or going into the crowd. Director should be beheaded

    Race over...

    Edit: maybe not...

Could the FIA not just pay Williams to not show up from now on? Better for everyone.

Well that was a good end to the race.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,356 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

Well that was a nice finish to the race. You have a feeling Charles and Max will be doing that quite a bit this year.

  • Site Banned Posts: 12,341 ✭✭✭✭Faugheen

Wonder will there be pages and pages of 'lucky lucky Max' or will it just appreciate how good a drive that was.

  • Moderators, Motoring & Transport Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 673 CMod ✭✭✭✭LIGHTNING

    Good race that

Hoho, Max got out of jail there

  • Moderators, Education Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 10,847 Mod ✭✭✭✭artanevilla

That was very enjoyable all through the field. Great racing.

    Delighted for Max.

Christ that fella waving the Flag could have put in a bit more effort.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,990 ✭✭✭Cool_CM

Great drive and the yellows absolutely did him a favour there 😂

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,230 ✭✭✭waynescales1

Two absolutely top class drivers going head to head again, this season is shaping up very nicely…

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,139 ✭✭✭✭Busi_Girl08

Aaah you know it's a proper race when there's are still battles going on at chequered flag ha

Well at least Lewis got some bad luck Today.

Nice to hear Charles congratulate Max on that win, no signs of manipulation or craziness.

  • Moderators, Motoring & Transport Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 673 CMod ✭✭✭✭LIGHTNING

To be fair the lad waving it is more used to swinging an Executioners axe 🤐

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,114 ✭✭✭Longing

Don't know who is worse Croft or Button. Button no Croft

  • Registered Users Posts: 515 ✭✭✭Lawlesz

That DRS stuff is a joke, could end up with a serious accident

  • Registered Users Posts: 55 ✭✭coltmaster

A moments thought for Perez. Great job KMag.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,516 ✭✭✭Luxembourgo

Maxs whining is rather tiresome, would love to see one of the Ferrari lads win

Great to see the passing and re-passing but could do without the bluffing into the last corner silliness. Great driving from the top 2, Verstappen got a bit of luck but I thought the Red Bulls had the pace advantage today.

That race, no safety car, bit more knowledge on tyres could've been even more fun, the hard tyres didn't really seem to work as hoped/expected.

Absolutely loving Leclerc v Verstappen. Cracking end to that race.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,139 ✭✭✭✭Busi_Girl08

Delighted K Mag kept ahead of ham.

Love that after all the moaning mid race you can tell Leclerc and Max are having the time of their lives properly racing.

And hard luck to Perez, always a kick when someone loses out through no fault of their own.

Nice screen for the 1st spot.

Perez will be gutted he didn't come in a lap later.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,297 ✭✭✭✭JRant

    Well that was bloody enjoyable.

Nice to see plenty of respect between the two lads

    Gutted for Checo though :(

What an amazing race, these drivers are incredible to watch battling for the lead. I thought Charles had the upper hand but Max pulled it off in the end. This is really shaping up to be a classic season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,139 ✭✭✭✭Busi_Girl08

Sky and netflix scrambling for shots of Max and Charles looking menacingly at each other to create a rivalry storyline

  • Moderators, Education Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 10,847 Mod ✭✭✭✭artanevilla

We'll see how long this respect lasts when we're into the vinegar strokes of the season and there's a Championship on the line.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,230 ✭✭✭waynescales1

Coulthard does good interviews, and is an excellent pundit, Sky should hire him and get him on the panel.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,356 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

I wonder what all the names were on the chequered flag, the names of all those beheaded Today?

You can see Max and Charles both enjoy racing each other and respect each other. Unlike when Max and Lewis raced, it doesn't feel like they'll take each other out.

  • Registered Users Posts: 73 ✭✭nf2k

Great finish to the race. Second race where we see Leclerc gaming the drs line. He's right to do it but it really shouldn't be a strategy, creates all sorts of odd behaviour. The drs zones need to be calibrated to ensure that isn't an option. Coulthard called it a "new form of racing". I disagree, they need to cut out the possibility.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,297 ✭✭✭✭JRant

Absolutely. They'll come into contact with each other sooner rather than later and it will be interesting to see if it's all sunshine and lollipops then.

"Well, yeah, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"

Checo under investigation for a yellow flag infringement?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,697 ✭✭✭quokula

I think those things disqualify him from Sky given the usual state of their coverage.

Though Jenson is great in fairness, would be nice to see him take more of a role.

He Co owns the company producing Channel 4s coverage (Whisper Productions) so he's going nowhere.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,278 ✭✭✭✭flazio

Sky Sports already tried by bringing out footage of a tiff they had when they were karting.

It’s merchandising, they’ve been doing that for a year or two. You can buy a square on a flag for a given race, they put your name in it and then after the race you get sent out that square cut out from the flag in a display case with a photo of it being waved.

It’s expensive enough, but I did consider doing it for Abu Dhabi last year. I regret not doing it given how that race finished.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,985 ✭✭✭Essien

The close racing is great but something needs to happen with DRS.

It can't be advantageous to concede your place in certain parts of the track.
