Orlando Park Tickets

Going on a family holiday in May to Orlando for a week, intending to spend a number of days in the parks. Did Disney World a couple of times when kids were young (they are now 21 & 19), so will try to focus on Universal this time, though return visits to Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios might be on the cards.

Travel agent is offering various ticket packages, but they are mostly for 14 days or 7 days. I think we really want 4 or 5 days in the parks and a couple of chill out days. Happy doing just one park per day.

Am I best just buying individual tickets direct, rather than try & find a package?

Also dont want to spend the whole holiday in queues so may get the Express Pass for Universal. I used this once before for myself in Singapore & it was excellent - is it worth it in Orlando? (i.e. does it really eliminate queuing?) I am not sure if there is an equivalent for Disney, but if anyone has any advice.

I'm resigned to it being expensive, but its probably the last big family holiday we will have for some years

When i went it worked out better to get the 14 day ticket than buy individually. Also the 14 days means you can do a park day, then a relax day and not cram them all together as it will get tiring. I highly recommend a visit to the Kennedy Space Center also.

It was the end of September when i was there and the queues really weren't all that bad, anything that had a longer queue came up to pretty much where the fast track starts anyway. May might be something similar as schools are still on.

    Thanks

Having relaxation days in between is exactly what I want to do, but we are only there for 7 days so I'm thinking 4 maybe 5 park days, so a 14 day pass seems excessive to me,but I'll do some price comparisons to see

Just back and whilst our kids are younger we went for the 7 days get 7 days free Disney and Universal combo as have us the kost flexibility.

Not cheap at €3400 and if we go again we'd skip Disney so maybe you don't need the combo ticket.

    Have a look at

If you are only there for 7 days realistically the maximum amount of days you'd probably be in the park is 5 as you won't be there the day you arrive or day you leave.

I agree, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure & Volcano Bay will keep you busy for 3 days at least & Sea World is close enough with probably the best coasters in Orlando, if it’s within budget, stay at one of the Deluxe Universal hotels for at least one night, you’ll all get unlimited express passes for two days, check in at 7am, drop bags & go, worth its weight in gold. If you’ve a car shoot down to Busch gardens or take the bus, think it’s free if you have an entry ticket, skip Disney

Disney tickets are gone crazy expensive, the Orlando trip for us across the pond is not even remotely affordable at all anymore

been wanting to take the 2 kids but it’s just bonkers

For single day tickets try undercovertourist or maple leaf tickets, both official ticket resellers but you need to do the sums & see if any cheaper than a ticket bundle, besides travel agent, try attractionticketsdirect

Yea I’ve checked this out and it seems a day ticket isn’t possible with Disney anymore, only 7 and 14 day tickets available, came to 2K for 2 kids 2 adults,

The whole holiday, flights etc from Dublin was coming to about 10k :o

You can get one to ten day tickets with undercovertourist but to be honest, Disney takes a bit of planning & since we last went they have added extra layers of stuff, Universal/ Seaworld requires little or no planning, with only a week & with the age profile that’s travelling & the fact that you’re travelling shortly, I’d skip it

last there in 2017 after several trips, 5 nights at Saratoga Springs, two nights at Hard Rock & 7 in a villa, no change out of 11k, it’s ridiculously expensive now, unless your loaded do Disney Or Universal, sometimes less is more, for a week I’d definitely pick only one

Yeah we paid €3.6k for 14 nights hotel and indirect flights for 2 adults and 2 kids during mid term break in February and about the same again on the 7 days plus 7 days free Orlando combo ticket. Was very surprised how pricey they had got.

If it wasn't 2 years of our holiday budget because of COVID the kids ages and then some we wouldnt have done it.

Attraction tickets and undercovertourist do sometimes have day ticket specials but for us the combos gave the most flexibility and value for money and we were thinking it was worth the extra few hundred euros to have access parks for the while trip. Would have been bad to pay all that money and then run out of time.

Agree its no longer cheap.....shopping is no longer worth it realiy, stuff like clothes etc...is cheaper here in most cases.

Agree with above for one week id just do one park....and if we go again we'd just do Universal. BTW...Volcano Bay is awesome!
