Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Boarding kennels recommendations

    Evening all,

Will need to put our 3 indoor dogs into kennels for a week over the summer - 2 labs and a springer - so looking for kennel recommendations with a personal touch please.

Also if they offer day boarding it’d be major bonus so we could send dogs in to get used to it ideally before they are sent for boarding.

    East Limerick/South Tipp areas

    thanks

There's only one name... Abbey Boarding Kennels (and Cattery)

Garrett and Karen (husband and wife) with a purpose built facility beside their home in Ahane.

They now also offer "doggy daycare" and will happily do trial runs to get your doggo's familair (as they did with our 2 'indoor' boys)

You'll find them on the web and on Bookface/insta.

Any idea how much they are? Kennels are nearly more than the cost of the entire holiday I suspect!

I know it’s going to be expensive and you’re probably right with costing same amount as the trip.

However, it’s just part of responsible dog ownership and I don’t mind how much it costs as long as they are well looked after. We would normally (pre-covid) have had a relative stay in our house to mind them but unfortunately this is a family wedding we are all attending and that is not possible for this trip.

There's a lad on Facebook "Trails 'n' Tails Dog Walking Limerick" who runs a very successful outdoor 'bark park' who I know personally (Jamie is his name). He has plenty of contacts in the dog minding circles in Limerick. He might know of someone who will call to the house to feed and check on them, if that's what you'd prefer. Drop me a PM if you want any other info.

We used Abbey in 2020, €20 / day for a dog, just dropped dog, bed & food off, would use again
