Its desperate stuff- Exactly as you describe. Blame one variable (USFP like you said), and when sufficient resistance builds up against this 'thesis' - immediately deflect to something else (AZOV, Ukrainian 'Nazis') - then turn on the western public (we are all racist for not caring enough about ...)

It's like they're jumping from rock to rock on a crumbling cliff-face of morality, each one more precarious than the last. As Putin dials up the brutality this bleating of theirs becomes more and more farcical and pathetic as they try and focus on anything, ANYTHING apart from the elephant in the room.

I think it's breaking their brains.

That sums it up perfectly - and it is sadly reminiscent of certain posters too. Who, on being hit with a fact/evidence that refutes their point - immediately deflect to something else, in a vain nonsensical attempt to keep going -

Beyond pathetic - disingenuous, bad faith, nonsense

Sic semper tyrannis - thus always to Tyrants

Mick, of course, was one of Vincent Browne's darlings. Couldn't get enough of him. Browne made him, if you like.

Wallace isn't rebellious, he's seditious and must be treated as such.

I saw the two deplorables referred to elsewhere today, as Lord and Lady Haw Haw. Apt.

I see Murphy, Smith and the rest of the Putin before People bottom feeders refused to applaud Volodymyr Zelenskiy because of the harm being done to the Russian People by sanctions.

    Utter scum.

Christ. You would think that maybe, possibly, after the pictures that emerged from Bucha that they would change their tune but no....of course not.

I wonder if their constituents think they represented them well by doing that.

i a less civilized time they would have been dragged from the house and thrown onto kildare street to great applause

At this stage it's like some sort of performance art piece:

Imagine saying this after what the world has seen happen in Bucha.

It is actually a form of evil. I would imagine if there were Ukrainians in the parliament she would get a slap from one of them.

Will either of them actually get elected next time around?

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,209 ✭✭✭Brussels Sprout

    No. Not a hope.

They managed to pull in voters outside their natural PBP base in the 2019 election. A lot of those voters sympathised with them over their treatment by the police when they were highlighting the Maurice McCabe issue. Crucially neither of them had a record of spouting Russian propaganda at that time.

Those same voters will desert them in droves if they run again. The PBP base doesn't have the numbers to get MEPs elected given the massive constituencies.

You're going off the deep end. A Ukrainian parliamentarian isn't going to slap a woman.

Go and have a lie down.

Can't wait for Mick Wallace to call to my door in the next election. I've eggs sitting in the hotpress getting good and rotten waiting for the quisling **** already.

As for the rest or People before Profit. When they come looking for a vote at the next Local election or general election they will leave my doorstep in no doubt about where I stand on their pro-Russia stance.

How is Mick Wallace a quisling?

You do know that Ireland and the Ukraine aren't one country? No one has sworn an oath to Zelensky, who is a foreign leader.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,209 ✭✭✭Brussels Sprout

They might if they were a woman and she was spouting that vile nonsense in their presence.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,209 ✭✭✭Brussels Sprout

They weren't the real audience for that performance though.

Jesus wept we are screwed for a decent left wing in ireland. Labour are gonna stay in the doldrums as Bacic has no appeal outside Dublin, those arseclowns Murphy, B.Barrett etc are an embarrassment who live in echo Chambers, two nutters in Europe (+Ming) and a reconstituted former terrorist ultra nationalist party selling their magic money tree fantasies as an alternative... I guess Greens next time out but Jesus, that's the choice....is it any wonder FFFG dominate.

Greens are gone at the next election as they have spent the past ten years plotting a new cycle path in Clontarf/Fairview and have made sure nobody knew it was happening until they broke ground last week.

Ask the ushers in the Dail. Some stories there.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,498 ✭✭✭touts

Wallace, Daly, Murphy, Smith etc have proven lately that their first loyalty is to their ideological homeland rather than Ireland. That makes them quislings in waiting and I for one don't want to give them the chance of being quislings in practice. They need to be removed from office at the next election.

Mother Russia still has a hold over self described socialists.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,313 ✭✭✭mikethecop

I really doubt its ideological from any of that batch of traitor's .

Greed for money and power more likely even dalys leftism is questionable now given her associations.

Be thankful there are unlikely to be offspring. The sooner that greasy bint and clown’s terms are up, the better.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,198 ✭✭✭Good loser

Vincent Browne was the making of Mick Wallace. Fellow travellers.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,209 ✭✭✭Brussels Sprout

I think it can be reassuring to people to deduce that they simply must be on the take. As in someone could only express the views that Daly has, in Europe, about Russia, if she is being paid off by them for doing so. Unfortunately, I think the truth is a lot more troubling. Daly and her ilk truly believe what they are saying. They believe that they are on the side of right here. They believe they are being virtuous.

Their brains have been pickled by disinformation. You don't have to stray too far off the beaten path on social media to see anonymous accounts pumping out pro-Kremlin talking points geared directly for the hard-left. They lap that stuff up and what comes out of their mouths is the end result.

Online disinformation is scarily powerful. It was the difference in Brexit and Trump getting elected. It led to a genocide in Myanmar. It got people believing all sorts of crazy conspiracies during the Pandemic. Now it has these politicians reacting to a massacre by blaming everyone else, far more, than the ones actually carrying out the massacre. I find it dystopian and I don't know what can be done about it.
