The sad part for him is none of his Russian oligarch friends are available to enter the chat. They're all still trying to evade the US Navy and Interpol etc in their yachts, they can't simply rent out any of those empty units anymore.

During the referendum on marriage a lad I worked with was claiming that Ann and Barry books would have to have two dads after the referendum, this is the problem he heard that on the radio or saw it on Facebook and grabbed onto it.

conservatives often push the thin end of the wedge argument.

This thing will lead to this, kids under 8 being told that it’s okay that Billy has two dads will lead to grooming, because they want to link homosexuality with pedophilia, careful not to say it too clearly though just hint so as to put a veneer of goodness over whatever they are trying to justify.

Indeed, and his other problem is that most of that debt that's coming due soon carry his personal guarantee. They aren't "business loans" that he can hide behind a chapter 11 or yet another company collapse/bankruptcy.

He had to give the personal guarantees because no one trusted him not to just stiff them again by shuttering the company and hiding behind corporate bankruptcy laws.

It's part of why he's desperate to stand for election again , he thinks that he can ward off the impending foreclosures and asset seizures by claiming that they are "politically motivated" as he runs for Office.

  • Registered Users Posts: 83,175 ✭✭✭✭Overheal

Right, @salmocab, because their edge case is valid, but when you mention you know more than a few same sex couples, scoff, well that's just a tiny drop in the bucket! etc. they don't matter!

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,360 ✭✭✭✭salmocab

Words matter a lot in this, kids in families with same sex parents might be unusual due to being quite a low number but not for any other reason are they unusual and trying to use the word abnormal suggests something wrong but again careful to not push it too far, just enough to be able to pretend you have no issue but still getting the association of the word in.

    Abominations!

    "I mean ... - they're abnormal."

It's part of why he's desperate to stand for election again , he thinks that he can ward off the impending foreclosures and asset seizures by claiming that they are "politically motivated" as he runs for Office.

Naturally, it's why he teased running years and years ago, why he ran in 2016, etc. he always has behind him lawsuits and unpaid debts etc. hounding him before he even announces. He had already ran out the Statute of Limitations on many potential crimes just by sitting in office for 4 years while SOL burnt up.

There's nothing in that Florida bill that even remotely relates to parents of same sex , same sex marriages , nor does it feature the word "Gay" even once. The bill seeks to prevent teachers from broadening the curriculum with matters such as gender identity and sexual orientation. When teachers drill into those topics they begin talking about transgenderism , non-binary , gender non-conforming , pronouns etc..

Weather openly or in secret , the majority of parents do not want highly idealistic young teachers exposing children aged 8 and younger to those conservations. Especially without their consent.

The bill was passed partly after Paterson Elementary school in Florida encouraged a girl to transition into a male without consulting her parents. She attempted suicide twice because - The court filing says that A.P. and the school had sought to keep her parents in the dark regarding her transgender identity due to their Catholic faith, which teaches that sex and gender are immutable. “Prior to the [suicide attempt], A.P. had not exhibited any signs of gender confusion or questioning of her biological sex,”

Jack Dorcy on the Joe Rogan podcast said they have a zero tolerance policy for mis-gendering people because of high suicide rates within that community. Thats something everybody would agree with for sure. The reason why suicide rates are high weren't touched upon however, but the point is clear. These are very serious and complicated matters that shouldn't be brought to the attention of young children. Not until they are older.

Idaho have a similar bill to Florida that I bet nobody was aware of.

A dozen other states are in the process of doing the same. Because unlike the deceit and dishonesty espoused in the last few pages , parents aren't dumb enough to be gaslighted into believing the literal definition of the bill is to prevent people from saying gay. Because the bill is aimed at protecting the innocence of children , this is a hill the scourge of woke idiots will certainly pop their clogs on. 🤠

I see a lawsuit was reportedly filed but cannot find the lawsuit itself, nor any evidence that it's gone to trial or that a verdict has been rendered. So this was a completely kneejerk law? Great! Those always work out the best.

These are very serious and complicated matters that shouldn't be brought to the attention of young children. Not until they are older.

In your expert, professional opinion no doubt, but why must a child who is not heteronormal be groomed by the school to present as heteronormal 'until they are older?'

A dozen other states are in the process of doing the same.

Which only tells us it's an election year and that they are all working in an extremely hamfisted and reactionary political manner to capture the phobias of their base once again. Fetuses, Illegals, and the Liberal Agenda, the Triumvirate of GOP wedge issue politics, which is all about being reactionary. Migrant Invasions, Selling Baby Parts, and Grooming Children to Kill Themselves now, of course.

GOP have found a way to cut Democrats (and anyone interested in Democracy for that matter) completely out of the gerrymandering/redistricting process, making it now entirely partisan in nature.

Just on that topic of the empirical proof or otherwise of Trump's wealth.

That'd be his tax returns. Those things that he keeps putting off releasing. His own accounting of personal assets, liabilities and in the US, his carried forward losses.

    Releasing those?

That'd scupper that pesky NY civil tax case. It'd probably also scupper the SDNY case because his declarations would surely tally with all the loan and consolidation paperwork. The values and assets declared would be consistent across all his paperwork wouldn't it?

That's empirical enough for Uncle Sam, wonder why he is always so reticent about them?

Round and round we go. He's not as rich as he says he is and if you never pay your bills then we can all be rich. Most of his business ventures have been disasters. He's bankrupted his businesses numerous times. He moves from one disaster to another all the while leaving a trail of destruction in his wake. He's inflated the value of his assets to secure some of his loans and the source of other loans are suspect to say the least. He's compromised conman who would have been a third rate used car salesman without the financial input of his father. In short, god knows just how "rich" the walking disaster of a businessman is.

This just in - the biggest ****ing loser in American electoral history is still banging on about being hard done by, despite suffering a legitimate defeat in a race he cheated multiple times in...

  • Registered Users Posts: 83,175 ✭✭✭✭Overheal

His priests would argue what he was really saying okay like is that ... the Democrats 'took it', duh, not him. Or, that what was there to be taken, was ... prosecution against Democrats? I never saw a criminal referral from Trump, he was a US AG?

How is he the biggest loser in American electoral history ?

He got at least 74m votes, the highest of any President in history and increased his vote on the 2016 election.

Give the hyperbole a rest for a while.

  • Registered Users Posts: 83,175 ✭✭✭✭Overheal

That’s just it, though. He had more votes than any other loser in the history of general elections. And he didn’t even win the popular vote in 2016. He lost the midterms then was twice impeached.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,387 ✭✭✭✭duploelabs

How much did he lose by? Considering he considered his victory in 2016 over Hillary Clinton the biggest landslide ever

  • Registered Users Posts: 33,729 ✭✭✭✭Penn

You're cherrypicking one aspect of the vote results. He got the highest votes of any President in history, and lost because Biden had the highest votes of any candidate in history. He increased his vote on the 2016 election, and lost by an even higher percentage of the total vote than he did in 2016. He also claimed his electoral college win in 2016 was the biggest since Reagan (it wasn't) and meant it was a massive landslide victory, and he lost to Biden by the exact same amount (therefore by Trump's own metrics, he lost in a landslide).

I agree that calling him the biggest loser in American electoral history is hyperbole, however it is hyperbole which is very much deserved when taking Trump's own comments on how big his 2016 victory was and how much of a little-bitty-b*tch he's being about losing, decisively, in a landslide, in the 2020 election.

Incredible that during days of arguments on here regarding 45 and policy you've stayed silent, but heaven forbid you insult the machismo of the chosen one. This is the time you chose to chime in!!

To answer your question, he, as another poster has mentioned, lost the house, the senate and the WH all in 4 years.

This was in and of itself, quite the feat, but considering also that he cheated on multiple fronts, from the Hatch Act violations, to stacking the postal system, to welcoming interference from a foreign country (China), to extorting a foreign country regarding military aid, he *still lost*. Incredible, when you put it into that context.

And as another poster here might say "But wait! There's more!"

As of April 2021, 65 cases were brought in an effort to overturn the election by Trump and his cronies, and ALL of them lost.

So not only did he lose once, despite cheating, he lost dozens of more times, getting thrown out of courts in every land, even by judges *he* appointed! He lost "bigly" in court too, one might say.

The final indignity of course is that he continues to mouth off lie after lie, that it was stolen, blah blah blah. Such behaviour is more evidence that he is a "loser", albeit in a more modern parlance way.

So yes, there's your proof. He's the biggest loser in American political history.

Trump truly believes that everything he has ever done in his life is "the greatest ever" and that "no one has ever done what I've done before".

Certainly in the case of almost of his claims regarding his time as a political candidate and President , they are simply not true which can be proven by the most trivial of investigation.

Lets look at some of his most frequent claims.

    • Biggest Victory in 2016 - Nope
    • Largest Crowd - Nope
    • Best Economy - Nope
    • Most Jobs - Nope (even allowing for Covid)
    • Most Judges Confirmed - Nope

The ONLY records his administration holds are those for the level of corruption, number of times impeached and volume of criminal charges.

That's another thing the supporters excuse. Trump surrounded himself with low lifes who have been since indicted and both his lawyers are in the barrell. Their reply - he isn't charged with anything. And sure, they were only investigated and charged to try and get to him... Something something witch-hunt.

  • Registered Users Posts: 40,442 ✭✭✭✭ohnonotgmail

And sure, they were only investigated and charged to try and get to him.

that is the way organised crime cases normally go.

Musk in hot water for missing an important legal deadline by 10 days. He utterly failed to publicly disclose when he bought shares of Twitter. The law compels disclosure for exceptionally large stock buys. I wonder if Twitter could get in trouble, they knew all about this before he even bought the stock and then flirted with him about the board
