I would have said 7. 25/7.30 is fine for a 7.45 kick off. Slightly lower crowds this year, 7.00 might be a bit too early.

If you want your pick of seats better to go early.

  • Registered Users Posts: 479 ✭✭Squidvicious

    Yes, fair point.

Disappointing result tonight. Couldn't get to it myself. Anyone else get to it? Any improvement in our play?

Very disappointing result and from reports sounds like a disaster of a performance

Treaty dropped points away to Athlone but Longford above us still have 2 games in hand

Looking unlikely we will be good enough to gain automatic promotion. Morris could be gone by the summer and we could get someone from the UK in to steady the ship

No real improvement in performance. Same tactics with Kavanagh up front on his own until the 2nd half when Britton came on. Junior Quitirna went off injured in 1st half. Hit the bar twice from header from corner and rebound in 2nd half which was unlucky. We need a result against Cork on Monday.

Playing rubbish all season, and another half arsed managerial appointment, don’t think Morris has much interest besides pick up a cheque for virtually nothing, once the goal went in last night it completely changed the game, one goal shouldn’t have that effect, it was another poor performance except maybe from Richard Taylor, best blues player on the night. Poor start and as usual with Waterford it’s all if this happens and if we win the next one, but that doesn’t matter if they don’t pick up points regularly, and it’s not happening for them, Morris is not the answer but the people running the club are a much bigger problem, so it doesn’t really matter who they bring in, coz it’s the same old rubbish anyway, badly run club, loads of English stiffs on 3 month contracts and Forrest, who is using the club because his kids are not good enough to play anywhere else, lots of teams are making progress, Waterford are not, the top 5 could be Cork Galway Treaty, Longford and Wexford, there is an argument that all of them are better than the blues, that’s a ridiculous situation

The complete lack of discussion of the cork game yesterday shows the growing level of detachment from the public... another awful result and it's looking worse the more games we play unfortunately.

Morris out on his ear...Will it make any difference to Duffys circus?

In fairness I don't think you could put too much blame on the owners regarding the current state of affairs.

They've retained a lot of last year's team, which really shouldn't have been relegated. They must have a very generous budget by first division standards.

They appointed the guy who won the first division last year. While I had my reservations about him having listened to what the Shelbourne fans were saying, he was the opposite of a Kevin Sheedy type appointment which we've seen before.

The key thing now will be to get a decent replacement in to steady the ship and get the side back in the playoff places. That's a realistic goal, and once they do that anything is possible.

Probably will, won’t they lose more money paying all the contracts of the sacked managers? Other than that, no it won’t, wonder who they will get from the English lower leagues this time

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,175 ✭✭✭✭StringerBell

Someone who looks to get the most out of the squad in an attacking sense would be enough tbh, the squad of players is well up to getting out of the division the football could have been tolerated if it got results but it hasn't so **** it, lets just entertain and have a go. The talent in the squad should see be enough.

Much better from the blues last night. Was great to see likes of Patterson allowed to play their game again. While it wasn't the full package it was certainly a start and we had a big travelling crowd. Roll on Athlone.

  • Registered Users Posts: 38,384 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

1-0 win today against Athlone, Could they leave the guys in charge ?

Cork seem to have a little gap in 1st place and hard to see them been caught now

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,172 ✭✭✭hardybuck

Athlone are awful. Worst team in the league by a distance. They have two very winnable games against Bray and Cobh coming up - should know more after that.

Cork and Galway are competing for the title. While Galway will lose their best player (Alex Murphy) shortly, they'll probably get a six figure fee for him - not that they're stuck for money. Waterford are in the group chasing for the playoffs.

We're only papering over the cracks.. Play offs are our best bet now

3 wins in a row now and a home game v Cobh Ramblers next so on a good run although we are expected to beat the bottom 4 teams.

Blues played well last night up in Bray but they were poor and didn't threaten much.Great goal by Phoenix Patterson and well taken goals by Griffin and 2 from Britton. Good away support there and the younger fans mobbed Britton when he came over to celebrate goals with them.

Some great goals tonight in the 4-2 win v Cobh.

We absolutely killed them, and ourselves in fairness at times. Gifted them both their goals from errors, they didn't threaten at all really.

Phoenix with a super strike from outside the box and Stringer with a peach from long range also were the pick of the goals, hit the bar aswell and dominated the whole game. Even going in 2-1 down at half time was no concern.

4 in a row now. Onwards and upwards

Good win in the end.. Still far from the finished article..we're going forward, but we're still leaking soft goals..still.. A win is a win..onwards and upwards..

Longford big game next weekend away

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,588 ✭✭✭Boooourns

Patterson is flying isn't he, hope he's on a good contract!

  • Registered Users Posts: 187 ✭✭Deiselurker

He is. Hope we can keep him till at least the end of the season. The younger fans love him with his tricks and skills and he's got some great goals this season.

  • Registered Users Posts: 666 ✭✭✭Speckydodge

Didn't he sign a 2 year contract before the season? Junior also

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,784 ✭✭✭Smell the glove

Signed up until the end of the season. Signed a contract extension last season.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,784 ✭✭✭Smell the glove

Cork unexpectedly drop points tonight so a win would be massive tonight. They need to capatilise on any dropped points by cork and Galway.

  • Registered Users Posts: 891 ✭✭✭skaface

Massive game tonight.. Galway playing Cork next weekend too.. We need to keep winning and see where it brings us #BLUES
