My Pro-lawn mower drive has gone, I have it two and a half years and it has been repaired three times in this period. Woodies are not interested once the warranty has gone; apart from Woodies who do you go to get the drive fixed or is it a case of goodbye and buy a new one; and not from B&Q or Woodies or suchlike?
    Thoughts please............

A lesson learned, never buy any petrol powered equipment from the "sheds", go to your local specialist lawnmower dealer.

Not necessarily. Just buy an established brand. My last Honda came from eBay.

Sorry for bringing up old thread. Another pro lawn user here. Mine is seven years old now and has just started giving trouble. Engine begins to cut out after about 20 minutes use. Lifting the blade gets it going again. Anyone know what it might be? Fuel filter? Oil? Spark plug? I know nothing about engines as you can probably guess :-)

Probably blocked air filter and or fuel filter.

Considering it hasn't been serviced or had an oil change in its 7 years I am amazed it still works. It has been great value. This afternoon I took it out and changed the oil and the air filter. Will give it a proper run tomorrow (assuming it starts at all....mental not to self...re-attach spark plug) and see if the problem has been sorted.

Hello from Spokane, Washington, USA. I am a lawn and garden equipment mechanic here and our shop had one of these Pro Lawn lawn mowers brought in for service. The drive has been disabled on it (the cable is cut) so assuming it no longer functions. I had to repair the starter, change the oil and spark plug, replace the carburetor diaphragm and sharpen the blade. I was doing a search trying to find a replacement blade for it as this one is showing some wear and will need replaced soon. From what I am reading, it appears finding a replacement is going to be nearly impossible. The entire machine appears to be pretty cheaply made.

Yep, the prob with these is replacement parts...once you take these out of the shop you need to oil and grease drive wheels, cables, and just about every moving part....forget about trying to order any pro lawn drive belts, just buy in a local hardware store which will be an A type belt....they do carry a briggs tho which is something! :)

My problem...I cannot stop the back wheels spinning. It's like it's locked in gear. The wheels only go forward but not backward. Any thoughts on how to rectify this?

the lever on the drive is stuck so the wheels keep turning or the drive cable is seized

The lever and cable seem O.K. I dismantled the lever cable but the wheels keep spinning. If the driver cable has seized is this an easy problem to fix?
I don't want to spend €100 on repairs when I can purchase a new mower for €200.

Ha Ha, buy another Pro Lawn.

    Hi,

I purchased one of these a few years ago, and the B&S engine on it is the only good thing about this mower. Just about everything else has either broken or fallen off. I got it from Woodies and definitely would not recommend Pro Lawn Mowers to anyone. Self drive stopped working after a few months although I didn't really notice as wasn't great anyway and used to stick a lot. Couldn't find a repair agent. But when I did the self drive pulley is made of a ridiculous piece of plastic which had sheared straight through.

Bottom line, in my opinion, is keep clear of Pro Lawn Plus mowers.

Pro Lawn are the brand that Woodies promote, cheap and nasty Chinese machines with no parts back up. There are plenty of good value Chinese machines available from lawn mower dealers WITH spares back up.

pro lawn mowers are good as push type models forget about selfdrive models as every thing on the drive is made of plastic if want a selfdrive mower get something with a good brand and good parts availability

I got a guy in Blackrock to fix mine. He collects the mower and returns it. Cost about €75 to include a service.

Is there a contact for Pro Lawn Mowers?

Or is there anywhere in Dublin / Ireland that I may buy a part?

I need to buy a replacement mulching plug for a Pro Lawn 51cm Mower 625E B&S selfdrive.

Have you got a part number from the existing one? I broke a clip on my side discharge and came here looking to see what my options were. In a lot of cases, the parts are generic parts that can be bought elsewhere, so a quick google of the part number brought it up for sale straight away. Might be worth a shot.

    Unfortunately no.

    I actually lost the original.

    Thanks.

    Again dragging up this thread.

My lower bar has broken with metal fatigue.

Anywhere to replace or repair this? It's got the B&S motor on it and has been faultless up to now
