Cork forwards have been really poor second half. Everything gone up there just keeps coming back straight away. They havent scored in 15 mins. Impossible to win with that rate. The Cork players missing made a big difference

Really good game to watch though

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,121 ✭✭✭zetecescort

fought to the final whistle in fairness. Cork 1-13 Galway 2-14 FT

An awful second half performance. The forwards first touch went completely missing. Galway's bench made a real difference when they came on and probably won them the game. Even the free in injury time that should have been driven long into the forwards was messed up and kind of tipified the second half performance. Opportunity lost but it happens.

That said it all really . A free out at the end and its mishit.

Disappointing as I think we really should have won that, Good experience though for the young players.

But just like the men, it doesn't really matter. Championship is the most important and this will help the newer players.

Is the Munster Semi final Cork v Kerry still going ahead in Killarney? I heard the venue hasn't been changed so I wonder what will Cork players do? I think they need to stand their ground here and forfeit the game to Kerry if needs be. Be a nice two fingers to the Munster Gaa Council.

It seems they will be standing their ground according to Cork selector Des Cullinane here

"Cork senior football selector Des Cullinane said that as far as the players and management are concerned their Munster championship clash with Kerry goes ahead at Páirc Uí Rinn and nowhere else."

    In other news,

Ciarán Sheehan has been appointed as a Cork U20 football selector replacing Billy Morgan.

The Cork Minor Hurling team to play Limerick will be announced tomorrow at 12pm

This is from an article in the Independent at the weekend.

There was never any grounds for playing the game in Páirc Uí Rinn in the first place.

Edit: Having said this, the Munster Council did fix it for PUR in the first place which is silly considering the agreement. Obviously the arrangement wasn't common knowledge.

It'll be interesting to see if this changes things for the Footballers.

I don't think it will change anything as they fixed it for there and Neither Cork nor Kerry have an issue with it. If Kerry objected, then fair enough.

What's the feeling with stand tickets for Sunday? Only terrace every went on general sale, are we expecting returns from Clubs to go online at some point?

Very impressive, they are a fine team.

Ross is Tony's nephew I think.

Was at the kerry game last week and thought this would be closer.

Great win was expecting tougher test for Cork

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,542 ✭✭✭The White Feather

I thought this would be close too. I presume Cork were very good and not just Limerick being poor?

Sometimes there can be odd results at this level but I am hoping this is another good panel this year

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,657 ✭✭✭✭callaway92

Limerick’s minors are really poor. Just to give a bit of perspective to the result. Tougher games ahead

U20s with some really poor wides, some shooting from poor positions. Ref really strict on throwing the ball and steps. Cork 0-4 Clare 0-8 27min

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,121 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Duirmuid Healy goal puts us in front for the first time, 1-11 to 0-13 after 45

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,121 ✭✭✭zetecescort

And Clare reply with a goal

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,121 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Cork 1-19 Clare 1-17 FT. poor display but ahead when it matters most, at the final whistle. we were very lethargic all game, subs made a real difference for us. Clare no doubt gutted to let a 2nd game in a week slip from a winning position

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 32,883 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

All things considered, a good win.

  • Registered Users Posts: 715 ✭✭✭Mac_Lad71

That game should really stand to us as we were very sluggish esp in first half.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,720 ✭✭✭✭MisterAnarchy

Some seats up now on Ticketmaster for the Limerick game, they will probably release better ones in the next few days.
