If only there were laws in this country against driving untaxed, uninsured and unlicenced mechanically propelled vehicles in a public place and say an organisation that was responsible for keeping law and order that you could call with your phone and they actually get up off their hole to inforce the law.

Gardai aren't allowed pursue scramblers.

Riders comes off it and dies 'Child dies in Garda pursuit' or hits a pedestrian while fleeing.

They should have a mobile crusher and crush the bikes on site

Legally, would this be treated the same as a hit and run with a car?

But this is tallaght 365 Days , local gaa pitches regularly destroyed ,the council were asked to start evictions for those involved guess what they did nothing ,not far from Sean Walsh is a field for scramblers ,lads arrive up with vans full of kit,

And yet we have idiot teens riding around all of the time estates with them

Don't know where you live mate but I've never seen a scramber in my area and I live in dublin.

You said scramblers are areas all over the country... they not. They're a problem in disadvantaged areas.

There are disadvantaged areas all over the country. Areas of Limerick, Cork, Sligo, Belfast. Are they not spread out all across the country? Or maybe they don't exist because you haven't seen them.

Originally from drimnagh so I know what it's like to grow up in a disadvantaged area. Made sure I didn't have to live in or raise kids in one though.

These issues boil down to the parents 90% of the time. Until the government brings in harsh dole/single parent penalties or evictions for people who have feral kids these issues will never stop

I grew up in Greystones. Was visiting my mum there before Christmas and we could hear scramblers in the background. Didn't bother her, she's almost deaf. Wouldn't call Greystones a disadvantaged town but there are disadvantaged areas I guess.

If it truly were a disadvantaged area they would not be able to afford to buy their children a scrambler.

We only call them or know them as disadvantaged areas as that is the narrative that we have been conditioned into believing.

If you take a look around these areas you will see pretty new cars outside the houses, along with plenty of other signs of money, such as these scramblers, so its not a disadvantage issue, its just a scumbag issue.

Now I am not saying that all the people in these areas are scumbags, but there are scumbags in these areas doing scummy things because they are scumbags, not because they come from one area or another, just because they are a less socially adjusted being.

There are plenty of decent people in these areas, which points to it being a people issue rather than an area issue.

As a society we need to stop making excuses for unacceptable behavior.
