My unique hot take - Yan Bingtao has a great temperament...

    Agree with a previous poster

Ronnie to be too mentally sharp for Higgins, steamroll job

    Williams 4-5 frames over trump

Final, Ronnie win by a wide margin , purely a guess as Ronnie could completely drop the ball in either match

This nonsense with them all guzzling the sponsored water is bizarre

There must be a good slush fund to cover it all

There'd be less of the constant breaks if they stopped it

Eurosport are cringey as they keep trying to make their own "notorious catchphrase" up.

They've mentioned "Shredsville" a few times now I've been watching 🤣

'Shredsville' has been on Eurosport for about 8 years I'd say, introduced to them by Jimmy White but has existed way before that.

Not just you but some of the complaints in this thread really are utter nonsense, killing a usually enjoyable thread. Fcuking conspiracy theories about drinking water.

Complaining about players drinking water is a new low. Can’t we just enjoy the snooker?

If you don’t like the commentators, change channel or turn off the sound.

I have to say over all the standard has been very high this year, but I’ve really missed an underdog making a great run. No Kurt Maflin or Gary Wilson’s this year. Even Bingtao and Bingham going out that the quarters was disappointing, it would nice to have one name no one predicted in the semis. The most interesting thing that can happen now is Higgins winning, after bottling so many finals. Judd winning a 2nd would be the 2nd most interesting, so I hope for one of those.

    they/them/theirs

And so on, and so on …. - Slavoj Žižek

I'd be happy for anyone bar John fix matches higgins to win

i'd love to be there right now, next year i'm there

Trump getting more likeable between doing this -

And saying he is stuck in the middle of the world seniors championship

He seems to be having fun showing a bit of humour.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

My prediction : Williams to beat Higgins in final

Edit: I think Higgins has the 'Indian Sign' over Ronnie latterly,, and Higgins is a serial final loser in recent times,, Willo been overall player of the comp for me

I think the 500k prize has Ronnie ‘it’s just a hobby’ o Sullivan name on it this time around

wish my hobbies had the same prize fund

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,719 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

The irony is when Murphy won the WC in 2005. Safety was hardly even an afterthought for him and he just potted everything.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

annoying one for me is - First time since ~ 1999 that the three of them (class of 92) have been in semis ,,, it's a knockout comp - not a league ffs !

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,312 ✭✭✭eeepaulo

I've never seen her misstep in any way, but she just looks too short to be a snooker ref.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,213 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

That was a very scrappy opening frame, but it's gone to Judd.

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,719 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

Ah she’s a great ref commands the crowd well takes No messing.

But on occasion it funny when she is struggling to reach a respot over a pack of reds.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

I think it set up great can make a decent argument for matches going either way.

My only gripe is I always like to shout for an underdog outsider. Can’t really say there is one left. So I am just going to enjoy the snooker. Without having a preference.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

That was an excellent break from Trump, given the pink was tied up when he came to the table and the black was out of commission for the whole frame.

  • Registered Users Posts: 25,329 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

Looking like 3-0 Trump. First to 17 but that’s starting behind the 8 ball

What do you mean by "not just you"????

What conspiracies have I been spouting? 🙄

    3-0 Trump

Long way to go but an ideal start

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,113 ✭✭✭Sandor Clegane

Early days I know but Williams would want to get going soon, can't afford to let Trump run away with things, if he builds a big lead he wont be easy to catch.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,239 ✭✭✭Pussyhands

    Judd tearing away.

Pity it's the big 4 left. Nice to cheer for someone who hasn't won much or won it before.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,736 ✭✭✭Mr. Guappa

Think that's 11 frames won in a row by Trump continuing where he left off against Bingham.

  • Registered Users Posts: 25,329 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

Williams should take this frame the way the balls are , nothing difficult.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,213 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

That 4th frame could have gone any which way. Should be Williams' now.

  • Moderators, Entertainment Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 11,394 Mod ✭✭✭✭Say Your Number

How many chances does Williams need

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,213 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Williams needed that, 3-1. Judd just had enough trying to get the snookers needed. And missing that green, may have been due to drift, probably helped make up his mind.
