That's what happens when you have a committee deciding where the white should be

    Trump support rockets up!

Relived the tension a bit anyway, I think.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

    Ronnie totally undermined the referee.

Fair play to Ronnie is all i can say; not many might agree 🤣

was a definite 'miss' there - but there's supposed to be subjectivity involved in the rule in general, I thought,,, but when a player fails to get out of a snooker, more than 99% of the time it's called a miss..

You'd have to wonder was that Ronnie's intention from the very beginning, to cause needless fuss. Calling the referee's and Trump's attention before he even played the shot. The assistance from the video referee was always there as backup.

    Attacking safety!

    It was a terrible safety

How exactly? Ronnie is very consistent on this issue. Respotting balls referees job. He sits down. Also O’Sullivan deliberately gave the ref a chance to see the white before the shot. The player on the shot knows the line when it is correct again.

I think you are extrapolating an issue from your own biases.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Trump can't be handing easy opportunities like this on a plate.

Ronnie always seems to end up in these situations with Olivier Marteel.

They really need a better system of replacing balls.

Its been done in other sports, surely a solution can be found in snooker.

We've got Murphy and Sligeach both taking pops at Ronnie

I usually prefer good cop bad cop

He didn't need to call attention to it. If he hadn't it would have still went to the assistant on the monitor, as it did. And as I already said, what's the point in calling Trump over? He's not the referee and can't make decisions.

Even when the referee told him it matched the monitor, he still wasn't happy. Only when it matched what he thought was right in his mind, would he play the shot. It was all needless drama.

That was farcical. Need some kind of zoomed in view of the white for the ref to look at on a screen.

Trump very accomodating there. Not so sure other players would have kept moving that ball over for Ronnie after it was agreed on.

Wonderful response by Trump. Clearly not phased by Ronnie's cheap gamesmanship

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,876 ✭✭✭bokale

Bad from asking Trump over before he took the shot. What if Trump felt he couldnt hit the red. Its not up to Trump to tell O Sullivan the shot isn't on. Trump should have stayed in his seat.

The technology is already there in manufacturing to mark the positions from above

    Sure they're only static balls

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,460 ✭✭✭Arthur Daley

He wouldn't do it to Jan Verhaas. Think Brendan Moore would handle him too. Especially in Sheffield.

The refs have a tough job to do, and they do it well. I don't think they need aggro for kicks. I'm expecting we may yet see more incidents like this.

Trump has made a mess of this frame. Sucker punch if his losses it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,034 ✭✭✭Swaine

What a mad frame this is. Drama!

And another miss on the green. He'll be kicking himself.

I think ronnie is totally taking advantage of the spirit snooker is played in. The ref asks for the players input, is willing to trust them, confirms with both they are happy.

Ronnies answer, im not helping you other than to tell you you are wrong, where would you like it ronnie? not my job.

Fair enough, just let judd and the ref decide.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,034 ✭✭✭Swaine

    OH MY GOD! Genius!

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,190 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

FFS! Jammy ######! Psychological blow to Trump.

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,706 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

Jayus did Ronnie play that? Judd will be raging so many chances.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,276 ✭✭✭✭mdwexford

That one is a stinger to lose even this early.

Poor Jack. Nothing went right for him there. 😂

I think Murphy was channeling his inner John Parrott there 🤣 "see ya next season" 😃
