They're saying on commentary that Judd needs to win this session 6-2. Even if does, he'd still be 14-11 down. And he's handed Ronnie an easy opener.

Surely Judd could have glanced the reds below the pink and get back to balk instead of the risky red.

Ronnie lucky enough again there poor safety hits the blue full in the face but doesn't leave anything on.

If nothing else at least today I learned something-

The phrase “damp squib” seems to have originated from squibs, an explosive device that becomes damp, and does not work. It could be that the phrase was derived from squibs, the firework. However, its first use appeared in the newspaper published in London in March 1837, The Morning Post.’

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Kamikaze snooker from Trump here. He's a beaten man.

I'd say Ronnie had thoughts of a 147 there at the start. The reds were perfect.

Ronnie looks a bag of nerves. The comeback is on

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,181 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

That was a Hail Mary play by Judd and has left Ronnie in again.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,034 ✭✭✭Swaine

This referee is a complete idiot.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,094 ✭✭✭testtech05

Ronnie being a PR*CK to the ref again there.....

Wouldn't move the cue to let him have a look

    Great shot on the black.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,181 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

The lads on commentary were wrong I felt. If Judd just played to drop the black in and missed, he would have only left the 2 reds on the right of the table as possible pots. And as it turned out they weren't possible after he played the shot. Doesn't matter now as Judd made the pot.

    Good start here.

I'm a Ronnie fanboy but I completely agree. Dick move, like a bully.

Great break under huge pressure by trump

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,654 ✭✭✭Muppet Man

Delighted for trump... let's see more of this.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,181 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

More breaks like that please Judd. Excellent.

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,704 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

If Trump keeps this up might have a match. Plus from pride point of view no1 wants to be a hammered losing finalist. Parrott still seems embarrassed by his 1989 loss. And that is over 3 decades ago!

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

BBC not showing the before and after shots more than once so as not to show up the absolute failure of the system of replacing the balls?

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,239 ✭✭✭Pussyhands

This match is far closer than scoreline suggests. Trump gifted Ronnie frames yesterday.

Ronnie isn't playing that great tbh. He's messing up opportunities in the balls but trump kept giving him more.

Lovely shot by Judd and it's worked out well.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,181 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

That was a very tough black in fairness.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,594 ✭✭✭newmember2

How many times...it's appearing another continuation from yesterday for Judd...he's so delighted to be in that he instantly makes a mess of it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,181 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Agreed. Like all his previous matches, Ronnie's needed several chances to win the majority of his frames. If the Judd that played Higgins in the final a few years ago turned up, I'd say the scoreline would be reversed. If that Judd could somehow turn up now, he still might have a chance here.

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,704 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

Think that is 2/3 frames Ronnie has thrown away. Judd is on about 6/7 thrown away.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,654 ✭✭✭Muppet Man

This is more like it. Match on!

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,594 ✭✭✭newmember2

    outrageous pink

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,768 ✭✭✭jj880

Maybe some netflix documentary nerves creapin in for Ronnie. Doesnt want it to be about the year he threw away a big lead.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,239 ✭✭✭Pussyhands

Game on imo. Trump very much in this.

Playing the occasion as Hendry said. How far was Ronnie ahead the year Selby beat him?

    Fairplay to Trump though.

Edit - found answer on wiki 2014 final -

'In the first session on Sunday afternoon, O'Sullivan took a 5–3 lead, which he extended in the evening session to 8–3 and 10–5. Selby took the last two frames of the day to leave O'Sullivan with a 10–7 overnight lead'

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.
