I think its just a waiting game really but I would expect you to be called quick with an OOM of 8. The results were only released last week so I would expect you to be called very soon. Let us know if you hear anything.

My EO ICT specialist software interview was on May 19th, 2021, and got an OOM 9.

Revenue offered me a position in July and I started in September.

I have a 47 OOM, do you think I will be called?

To everyone who has been placed in OOM, it is just a waiting period but all will be called for a position at some stage.

I emailed PAS today and they have reached 39 on the EO Dev panel

     Hi all,

Have questions relating to eo ict software development stream.

Do new entrants get trained into a specific area when they start?

Also are they working from home or in offices in general?

    Thanks.

Anyone else heard back about this? I was informed the other day that I'm 13th on the panel for the Software Development stream (HEO). No idea how many people they might be looking for...

When was this competition run and how long was the panel expected to last for? Any ideas when they might recruit for ICT Specialists at EO grade again?

I think the latest competition was launched September 2020, generally a 2 year panel so might be a new competition in the next month or so.

@Ahshurlookit Cool, that was what I was hoping to hear 😀

The last EO ICT Specialists competition ran last year in 2021.

Infrastruture and Operations Specialists in the Civil Service around September 2021.

Software Development Specialists in the Civil Service around November 2021.

My guess is that they probably will have another competition this year due to IT shortage of staff.

Hi all is anyone working for agriculture in ICT in infrastructure? If so how is it and what is the remote working policy like in terms of on site? Many thanks

    Just applied for this today.

Best of luck. I kinda wish I went for this years ago, as while I'm in a public sector type role, it would be hard for me to move into the Civil Service proper without taking a paycut, but there's little advancement where I am.

Anyone have any experience of the ICT department in the Pensions Authority?

  • Registered Users Posts: 156 ✭✭mtb_sends

@OKDublin FYI the interview offers were out for this today

  • Registered Users Posts: 128 ✭✭OKDublin

Does UX fall under the Civil Service's ICT remit?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,009 ✭✭✭Daith

Depends really. A lot of stuff is outsourced but some department would manage their own software. Really depends

I’ve never seen an internal role solely focused on UX.

Hey, I've an interview coming up soon for ICT Insfrastructure specialist. I'm just curious to ask those who have undertaken this interview before, what questions are asked? I'm aware it's compentency based and I've several examples drawn up - although not all of them are IT Specific (Never worked in it)

Yep, I applied and got placed. Very happy!

  • Registered Users Posts: 156 ✭✭mtb_sends

@DM_2092 Same. Although I don't know if I'll accept the position given its in Dublin which I was trying to avoid

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 194 ✭✭DM_2092

    Congrats none the less!

Just curious if anyone has been placed from the latest panel as of yet? I've to go through Garda Clearance and I'm unsure how long I'll be waiting for a start date. Eager to get going at this stage and this waiting around stuff is a bit of a killer!

Just received my post-interview OOM results. Am in the 120's (in Dublin, if counties have independent OOM queues). Seems I'll only need to take further action if my place on the order of merit is reached. Obviously wish I was higher in the order of merit but, other than that, not sure how to feel about the result. All I see regarding the recruitment number is mention that the Civil Service is looking to take in over 100 ICT Apprentices across the three streams.
