ICT Specialists (Executive Officer level) in Civil Service

My EO ICT specialist software interview was on May 19th, 2021, and got an OOM 9.

Revenue offered me a position in July and I started in September.

To everyone who has been placed in OOM, it is just a waiting period but all will be called for a position at some stage.

Do new entrants get trained into a specific area when they start?

Also are they working from home or in offices in general?

When was this competition run and how long was the panel expected to last for? Any ideas when they might recruit for ICT Specialists at EO grade again?

Best of luck. I kinda wish I went for this years ago, as while I'm in a public sector type role, it would be hard for me to move into the Civil Service proper without taking a paycut, but there's little advancement where I am.

Depends really. A lot of stuff is outsourced but some department would manage their own software. Really depends
